Good for him.
Bravo!
Jindal’s golden hour: LA liberals think they have him on the defensive. Who are the eight “lawmakers” who opposed such a mild bill?
OK. So Gov. Jindal has taken the spirit of the actions that one Barack Hussein Obama, humm, humm, humm, has implemented. Bypass the legislative bodies and implement, implement, implement. This game can be played in SO many derivative variations. Who’s up next? Texas, Wisconsin, Kansas?
Who COULD oppose such a bill?
Leftist are always telling us that ministers will never, should never, be forced to officiate a wedding they don’t agree with. Now, when this stands a chance to be codified, they resist it?
What does that tell you about what leftist believe about religious freedom?
Hopefully President Cruz will take note...
Nice to see some courage from a Republican for a change!
And here’s more, the businesses, the employers, the public services, stay the same. So why fuss about what some religion, which is an organization a person by U.S. law has their own decision to freely join or leave, or never join at all, is such a problem?
Go Bobby, bravo, well done. What’s this about LA’s economy supposedly doing so badly? Is that just BS?
Please let it be Texas! The persecution of Christians by the illegal hussein regime must be halted in its tracks! Governor Greg Abbott can make it happen.
We have far too many mosques here as it is. And each one is an encampment for the enemy.
Good. I still don’t know why we need special legislation to enforce our constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms, though.
Jindal has some brass gonads to do this - you know the media will be after him.
But this is smart and brave. I think he’s quickly becoming my #2 pick behind Cruz. We need conservatives who are willing to FIGHT.
See, that's the thing. I don't like it when Obama pulls his "pen and a phone" BS, and so I don't like it when Jindal does the same. As much as I agree with the purpose of what Jindal is doing (though, as others have said, religious freedoms shouldn't need legislative/EO protection), I don't like the idea of a governor simply implementing a law that the legislature has, for whatever reason, failed to pass itself.
Bobby is speaking for the people of Louisiana.
Oh, I’m the opposite. It’s like a brawl, and I constantly see the left breaking each and every rule... ignoring the written law, the Constitution, utilizing corrupt courts, dictatorial executive orders, etc. They “fight dirty,” while the conservatives all sit around with their teacups, tut-tutting, and pointing to the rulebook.
It ultimately renders conservatives losers on each and every issue. It’s the paradigm we’re in, and have been now for years. We seem to already be in a post-Constitution, post-America reality. Hence, I’m at the point I’m fine with any conservative using any and all means to combat the forces “transforming” the country into a depraved marxist tyranny.
But what is conservatism if not adhering to “the rulebook” (the rulebook in this instance being the Constitution, federal or state)? Sinking to the left’s level and breaking all the rules seems, to me, an awful way to stand up for those very same rules.
LA is deeply in debt; has too much spending.
