It’s not Hewitt’s fault that Trump does not yet know the players. Remember, Trump has told us how tough he will be on the terrorists, so it’s reasonable (IMO) that he be questioned about it.

Correct me if I am wrong. But, aren't the candidates brought up-to-date on security matters only after they are the finalists for the Presidency in the general election and not before?

Come on Mr. Trump, I’m disappointed in your answer. You should anticipate these things and have a better answer...especially if Hugh Hewitt is the questioner.

Careful, the Trumpists (Trumsters? Trumpettes?) might interpret that as an all-out assault on their man!

StormTrumpers?

Hewitt really did him a favor. This was a non-important radio interview that few heard live. The MSM will beat it for a day or two. Trump is a quick learner. He will have a better answer when something like this comes up in a debate. All the candidates will have debate preppers trying to cram their heads with names, facts, figures, and issues. Trump is a bright guy, he will retain a lot of what he is prepped with (not a Rick Perry.) More importantly when he gets a question that he genuinely doesn’t know the answer to or have a good answer for he is much better and deflecting, ignoring, attacking, and putting forth the message he wants to focus on. Purist complain when politicians do that (”He didn’t answer the question!”) but the reality is that if you do it well then you win election. If you do it poorly you lose like GOP-E candidates.

It’s why a President selects advisors to, you know, ADVISE him on the often very minute details before making those domestic and foreign policy decisions. The captain of a ship has folks in the engine room doing stuff there that, while he may be fully capable of them himself, has more vital things on his mind.

What I want is a president who picks his own people – people who, while they may not always agree, have the same basic philosophy, love of the nation and concern for its welfare and safety. Would not that concern be a refreshing change from the traitor now infesting the Spite House?

An example of the other sort was JFK who, after being installed, had to be INTRODUCED TO HIS DEFENSE SECRETARY, Robert “Tie The Troops’ Hands Behind Their Backs” McNamara.

Question: WHO TOLD JFK McNAMARA WAS TO BE HIS SECDEF??? There are many other examples, but I think you get the idea.

Oh, BTW, PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!

Here’s a good article. I believe this is a desperate bid by the gope to take out Dt. Please note where they warned about this type of attack back on Aug. 26th.

I remember the press telling us all how incredibly brilliant and un-challenged Obama has been his entire life, and that he does a lot himself b/c he’s so brilliant.

Maybe Jeb is like that?

Yeah, they begin receiving security briefings at that point (not sure if they get quite the same briefing as the President, or just something close). But, here, one does not need to be "up-to-date on security matters" to know who the Quds Force is. They've been around for decades (since the Iranian Revolution, or very shortly thereafter), and have been active in nearly all of Iran's foreign terrorist activities for the past 30+ years.

For a serious Presidential candidate to not know who they are is embarrassing.

Maybe it is embarrassing for some. But, I don't really think so. Because as an individual who acquired my many of the jobs I have held with no previous experience in those particular fields, I can say without reservation that I, for sure, didn't know everything about those jobs. But, I learned and succeeded.

I am sure that Trump, being the business man that he is as well as a successful billionaire, didn't know everything about the projects he started, but he found the people who did know what he didn't.

Finally, what did Obama know? And, does he know anything after 6 and a half years into the job?

Mr. trump came across (at least to some of us who do not worship him) as ignorant and indignant.

I hate the gope. I really do. They have lied to me repeatedly. They have stolen the power of “we the people” and given it to the CoC. This is nothing more than their game to get rid of DT. I will no longer fall for any of the gope games, and I wish others wouldn’t as well. I posted this earlier, but will post again.

This is what comes with the territory of someone who isn’t a typical politician. I would advise Trump to get some people on his team who can ramp him up on these things.

Of course I read your original post. Oh, and did I mention something about avoiding condescension in my original reply? (Yeah, it’s probably sarcasm) Also, my opinion about your anti-Trump supporter tirade has nothing to do with a statement of fact. So stop falsely accusing me of lying about you. That would be a false accusation. Not quite a lie, but close. (Yeah, it’s probably sardonical)

reading the replies on this thread, with excuse after excuse and things that hint at: “but Obama did it!”, I would say your response is written by “one who has not consumed the Trump kool-aid”

While I appreciate the issues that he has vociferously brought forth to this campaign, the man has as much business being President of the United States as my dog. Sorry folks, but being a fighter is not enough, not nearly enough. It is important and something that has been lacking in our candidates and is SEVERELY lacking in ANY of the GOPe, but when a candidate erratically lashes out at ANYONE who dares question him, that is a huge cause for concern. (HINT: its the same thing that Obama does...its just that THIS guy occasionally spouts stuff we like).

I’ve long had a natural aversion to kool-aid. And reality tv folks.

Most candidates stumble on this stuff. They don’t have the option skipping an intel briefing every Monday morning. They should just copy OStumbles and call all terrorist leaders the JV Squad.

‘I heard the audio this morning. It was clear Trump was completely out of his depth. I loved his “Who cares, they’ll be gone by the time I take office.” Incredible.

This was a Herman Cain moment. Remember Cain’s 2012 interview in which he was completely flummoxed about foreign policy? Most people were clearheaded enough to see that he just didn’t have what it takes.’

Wishful thinking. People circumspect enough to be voting for the very survival of the country are not going to side with the press against their own candidate. Especially not a member of the press who was all in for Romney.

Btw, the ‘strategy’ of lying about, mocking and demeaning Trump and his supporters—a strategy Cruz calls “foolish”—is working as well as could be expecting. Trump is gaining support and Cruz is slipping. Might want to rethink it.

I don’t care that Trump didn’t know the general’s name or that he initially lied about it. I do have a problem with him not knowing what the Quds Force is. Its part of Iran 101.

Uh-huh.

Cruz was polling at -1 during his Senate race, according to some estimations and allowing for the margin of error. No one knew who he was, and he was up against a popular big money self-funded candidate who was expected to sweep easily into office.

We’re fourteen months out, and Cruz is currently working hard setting up the same modern grassroots guerilla campaign (his term).

I’m not worried about Ted. At all.

So you “rethink” your support of a liberal Democrat, unless you’re too far gone into the mindless adulation, and I’ll stick with the proven conservative.
