Yep. Fox led with this story and keeps repeating it. They want the brilliant Jebby to rise in the polls. I bet he can say those names REAL GOOD.

Who wouldn't? They change every other week.

They merge, separate, change names. Oh, and there are hundreds, perhaps even thousands of them. Used to work on intel side and had to be familiar with many, and I will say that I wouldn't expect a politician to know this. For those who say they need to be knowledgeable on foreign affairs and military, then where does it end: would you expect him to know what sensors are on the M2A3 Bradley, down to the wavelength of the IBAS FLIR? I would see this as a weakness; you have to assemble a knowledgeable team and be willing to trust them to provide accurate assessments and to make decisions at the lowest level. The executive decision maker should be focused on strategic level and must prioritize for critical emerging issues; he can get detailed topical briefings on those issues as they emerge, but he can't know everything all the time, and if he does he is not utilizing his time well. He should be focused on proactive course of action analysis, not memorization of data elements.

If you blow the terrorists off the face of the earth, you don’t need to remember their names.

The only people who need to know those names are the joint chiefs of staff. Make sure they know every one of them and task them with killing them.

Abso-freekin-lutely. Leaders know how to assemble teams that win. The Donald has a proven track record of doing precisely that. I am still in Cruz's corner, but the Donald has been tearing up the circuit. Doubtful that he "stumbled" during this go-round and what is probably his best asset, he knows what he doesn't know and how to correct/compensate for that.

“As it stands, it appears his definition of a gotcha question is a question he does not know the answer to.”

Just because he doesn’t know jack about the middle east countries except that he would invade and take all the oil from the countries that own it and bring it here, don’t forget he is the greatest and says he is the greatest and he will make a great president because he is great and will be the greatest and you will see he is the greatest and he will make great decisons and hire great people, the greatest people, but he is the greatest of all and he will be great.

Trump is not the president (yet) he does not sit in national security briefings he is not in a position to know every raghead that has aspirations of Jihad. If he is elected you can bet your @$$ that he will know who they are and he will be going after them. Not like the current occupant who just tries to appease them.

I’m sitting here reflecting so enjoyably on all the gotcha questions Obama was asked. Then of course I recall the time Obama said HI is in Asia. The press really had a field day with that one.

How about all those gotcha questions the press has lobbed at Jeb? They just can’t quit trying to trip him up, can they?

Meanwhile Trump hits 38% in the latest Gravis AL poll. Jeb is at 5% and Cruz got 4%.

I know—let’s make big hay out of Trump’s inability to name, as a prior poster aptly put it, Muhammad or Ahmed. That will REALLY hurt him in the polls—and give Jeb and Cruz a boost as well. Conservatives are, after all, SO fond of the media in general.

But Hewitt would never do that because he’s always been a chicken shit who is more interested in showing off how smart he is than in advancing conservative goals.

Na...he's just diligently working behind the scenes to get the love of his life, Mitt Romney to jump into the race.

That these halfwits believe THIS is important is a perfect example of why Trump will crush them.

... if he wants to ultimately be taken seriously by a sufficient number of voters to get him elected, he is going to need to show a more studious, serious, side on issues like foreign affairs.

Concurring bump...he needs to do some foreign policy homework otherwise he's gonna get chewed up in the next debate.

There really is no reason for him to know specific names right now. And it was a gotcha question. This is nothing more than fodder for the elite GOP. When Odumbo was running, did he get asked question like that? Of course not.

Remember in 1999 when GW was asked questions about generals? That was a gotcha question. Same with Palin and what newspapers and magazine she read and the Bush doctrine.

Believe me, this will not affect Trump supporters at all.

And everyone can Bing everything.

LOL

I heard the audio this morning. It was clear Trump was completely out of his depth. I loved his "Who cares, they'll be gone by the time I take office." Incredible.

This was a Herman Cain moment. Remember Cain's 2012 interview in which he was completely flummoxed about foreign policy? Most people were clearheaded enough to see that he just didn't have what it takes.

Despite Trump's cult of personality, the same is true of him. Regardless of his fans' dismissive "Who cares", "Screw it", "So what", it's obvious that he doesn't belong anywhere near the White House.

Foreign policy VP? Cotton, maybe? I don’t think it will be Trump-Graham.
