TEHRAN (FNA) - The Yemeni army and popular forces hit a strategic military air base in Asir province in Southern Saaudi Arabia with Scud missiles, killing tens of high-ranking Saudi officers and commanders and destroying over two dozen F-15 fighter jets and Apache helicopters.
At least 66 high-ranking Saudi army officers, including two senior commanders, were killed when the Yemeni missiles hit Khamis Mushait air base in Asir province in retaliation for the kingdom's aggression against their nation.
The Yemeni forces also destroyed 17 F-15 fighter planes and 9 Apache helicopters.
About 300 Saudi officers were also injured in the Yemeni missile attack on Khamis Mushait air base.

Loser: American taxpayer. We will have to pay for those 17 new F15s and 9 Apache helicopters.
Why? Saudis have plenty of money. Let them pay.
“I have not found this elsewhere. Propaganda piece?”
Yes, it appears likely to be some Baghdad Bob style propaganda exaggerations designed for the gullible at home and abroad. Notice how they failed to use the correct name for the Saudi air base, “Khamis Mushait air base” instead of the actual name, King Khalid Air Base (KMX). Also note how the article boasts about the massive destruction of an airbase and its aircraft, but only claims large numbers of Air Force casualties. In other words, the article is incompetent whether or not it is disinformation.
“At least 66 high-ranking Saudi army officers, including two senior commanders, were killed when the Yemeni missiles hit Khamis Mushait air base in Asir province in retaliation for the kingdom’s aggression against their nation.”
I think you pretty much figured it out, Tupelo.
I smell BS
Jug Ears policy in action!
One scud? Was it armed with a nuke? Think not
I don’t believe you.
The report hasn't even been confirmed but a reputable source yet. It's from an Iranian agitprop site for gods sake
Me too - (BS) Amazing all these normally sane FReepers accepting this as it’s a verified report - calm down people
Roger that. Saudi's are much better than that in force protection - I think they may be towards the head-of-the-class in training, relative to other Arab nations, that is.
Call up Davis-Monthan and break out some more F-15’s, I hear the Saudis are in the market.
CC
They’re not “Yemenis” they are just the Houthi Shiite minority of Yemenis who overthrew Yemen with the help of Iran.
Second, this is wishful thinking from Iran, whose new ships all have glass bottoms so they can see what’s left of their old ones that we sank in the 80s.
This is probably BS but I’ll bet we end up the bad guys here:
The U.S. government should use its influence over the Saudi Arabia-led coalition that is bombing Yemen to protect civilians and promote a peaceful resolution to the conflict, a group of U.S. lawmakers say in a letter sent to President Barack Obama on Wednesday.
We write to express our dismay over recent reports that airstrikes conducted by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition struck yet another wedding reception, wrote the lawmakers, who all hail from the presidents own Democratic Party.
IF true...that’s some mighty fine shootin’ with a Scud.
Same incident reported from an Israeli source:

I found this part interesting:
Scuds have been launched at Saudi Arabia from Yemen several times during the nearly seven-month-old war, but have been shot down at least twice by Patriot missiles supplied by the United States.

> it seems that Saudi Arabia is behind ISIS and terrorism in the Mideast
Saudi bloody Arabia was behind the 9-11 WTC attack that killed 3000 Americans!
All but one of the hijackers were Saudis.
And they weren’t poor goat herders looking for jobs.
They were professionals and students here in the States on HB-1 and student visas.
ISIS is Sunni and essentially the outgrowth of the Iraqi insurgencies who pulled back and waited until Obama made good on his promise to totally pull out. Syria is an unusual item in that it is essentially a sectarian (Alawite) power rule that allows all faiths, but each has its class placement in the order. It is a sort of monarchy pretty much the same as was Iran under the Shah but the Shah himself dispensed power. Assad is pretty much a figurehead as is the Queen in England. The small sectarian group holds all the power like the Bishops did during the Dark Ages.

Which brings me back to the observations I made when I was stationed in Iran. They are in their period of the Dark Ages and only a Renaissance will move them into an age of personal enlightenment instead of Autocratic rule of the dumb uneducated masses as they hope to keep them mired in that existence to keep them in their positions of power and wealth.

I agree with your point but I believe 15 of the 19 were Saudis.
Good, they’ll have to buy another 20 or so F-15s. That will help the trade deficit.
Saudi = Sunni = You are dead or one of them
Iran = Shite = You and every one else is dead.
