Is the Trump campaign morphing into the Giuliani campaign Part II?
Self

Posted on 01/16/2016 11:40:15 AM PST by dschapin

Now that Trump is making his defense of New York values the centerpiece of his campaign and doing that by making everything about 911 it seems to me like his campaign is sounding more and more like Giuliani 2.0. Here are the reasons I am thinking so.

1. He is trying to wrap himself and his New York values in 9/11 heroism.

2. His supporters don't seem to care about the fact that he publically attributed his support for partial birth abortion to growing up in New York City.

3. Many of his supporters seem to be quite happy to write off social conservatism and social conservatives completely.

4. His campaign has become all about being a strong leader with a personality cult.

5. All of the sudden much of the Gope and the liberal media is on his side while he defends their social liberalism from Senator Cruz.

So, I have to ask. Is Free Republic really going to support Trump now that he has morphed into Giuliani 2.0?

No he isn’t. Cruz thought he was being oh so clever by dissing Trump for his NY values. Trump gave s heart felt and honest response.

Get over your own self all ready

Trump gave the most pathetic, eye rolling, pandering answer in the history of politics. Notice he never said he didn’t represent NY values. The NY values that EVERYONE can recite. Big government, pro-abortion, anti 2nd Amendment, high tax liberal values. Screw New York values. The people that exemplify them are Bloomberg, DeBlasio, Cuomo, Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump.

No, we can use Trump’s own views from this primary. Nationalized healthcare? Are we voting for Trump or Sanders? Their views are both typical of NYC. Trump’s touchback amnesty, confirmed by his son, is a giant government expense that achieves nothing. Might as well vote for Rubio and cut out the theater and expense.

Trump is a worthless con artist. No, he is a billionaire con artist.

Cruz never said a word about the 911 New York and we all know it.

Trump pretended that he did because Cruz is right about New York values and we all know that, too.

Donald ‘I don’t have time for PC’ Trump used 911 to cover for his record of bad values. And, did you notice how delighted the elite media was the next day?

To Trump lovers (and I’m one of them) his defense of New York values is a big warning sign.

What do we do now?

Great post, montage. As someone here on 9/11, and watching those wonderful people slaughtered in San Bernardino, all I want is someone to stop the islamification of America. That’s all. I’ll take care of the rest of my family’s problems if Trump does that one thing.

Trump’s defense of New York values by evoking their response to the 911 attack was a clever diversion.

We all know Cruz was not talking about 911.

New York/Hollywood/DC values are killing our nation and Trump gets rich off those values. Then, Trump somehow makes Cruz the bad guy.

I can’t breathe at the injustice of it all.

Didn’t you just tell me you “loved” Trump? So confused.

Thanks. I lived in Manhattan during 9/11 and was in an elevator just a few blocks away when the first plane hit). Someone who worked for me took a job in WTC 1 and was killed in her second week there. So I was furious when I saw Bush praise Islam as her body lie in burning hot ruins. Trump is the only one who even mentioned the Muslim menace. Even if he only does 20% of what he's promising on it, it could save the nation. Just look at Europe. We cannot afford another RAT or GOPe apparatchik.

Conservatives are being marginalized once again, so millions of us will stay home on Election Day once again

Since Trump is a populist he does not need your vote in November.

If Trump does NOTHING ELSE but build a wall and stop the Muslim invasion, he belongs on Mount Rushmore.

As long as Trump stays on those two issues he will win by 20 points.

I know - I'm just plain upset. This is what I already posted on another thread. I respect Cruz but I just don't see how he can win. Plus, maybe America doesn't even deserve him!

The sins of abortion and homosexuality are not going to be solved until America has a Christian revival.

This election, we just want someone to win who will not open the borders and one who will torment the elites.

Cruz in the better man for us; but, Trump can get the non-Republican votes it will take.

So vote Trump and pray for revival and keep Cruz for the next time.

I take it from the last few days that Cruznadians hate — err — do not heart New York.

Sorry for your loss. I had a job interview in the WTC (I think it was working in David Stockman’s office) and ended up turning it down. I still think about that. Yes, I think all of us got sick of Bush’s cries of “religion of peace” crapola. But he and his family were Saud-o-philes. Which is one of the reasons no one wants Jeb.

His supporters, however are in a trance, blinding them to reality. I hope they are happy with their Trump/Kasich ticket.

We are all getting sleepy. Sleepy. Sleepy from listening to Cruz drone on about things that don't matter.

Is this the best you Cruz cultists can come up with.
