we do not need no stinkin constitutional amendment, we just need to lawfully apply the one we have! Same goes for the 16th Amendment & the IRS!!!

Now if you want to repeal an amendment, it should be the 17th Amendment that infringed on the state legislatures right to select their representatives in Congress.

“Has Ted ever applied for American citizenship?”

With all the Cruzholes here you would think the Canadian Creep has some broad support across America.

Since you have to be a Citizen to be a member of the United States Senate......who's is checking the qualifications of these aholes?

Obama, Cruz, Rubio?

We know Obama is an illegal alien. We have no evidence that either Cruz or Rubio is an actual citizen. They are definitely not natural born Citizens.

When all this usurpation crap washes out, Rafael and Marco may be out of the Senate too. LMAO

This is exactly what article II, section I, clause 5 sought to prevent.

I expect that by 2020 El Chappo will run for president because his third wifes maid was born in Porto Rico.

That is also conferred if the parents are American citizens, regardless of where they are in the world when the child is born/

Children born abroad to US citizens are transmitted derivative citizenship thru their parents by blood, jus sanguinis It is not called birthright citizenship.

Here is the definition of birthright citizenship: a legal right to citizenship for all children born in a country's territory, regardless of parentage.

you are confusing ‘jus soli’ with ‘jus sanginis’, ‘soli’ refers to soil, ‘sanguinis’ refers to blood, the founding fathers adopted ‘jus sanguinis’ ... to We the People and OUR posterity, all foreigners are welcome to apply for US citizenship where upon becoming a US citizen, your children also become US citizens.

"Sundance," pro-Clinton/Trump hack from TheConservativeTtreehouse.com, is Mark Ivor Bradman. He's got a long and notorious history of "getting it wrong"

We will see if Congress ever passes a law changing it, but you can bet that it will be challenged in the courts. IMO the law should be upheld given the phrase in the 14th Amendment "subject to the jurisdiction thereof"

If the courts rule that such a law is unconstitutional, then an amendment would be necessary. It would not entail abolishing the 14th amendment.

So an Anchor Baby would be born here by foreign parents...not Cruise

Birth Right Citizenship is anyone born here is a citizen.

Cruise is Naturally Born US Citizen by the fact that his FREAKING MOTHER WAS AN AMERICAN.

Seriously People, I think we have lost the mental capacity as a nation to live as a free people. A bunch of drawling moronic serfs.

" A Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) is official evidence of United States citizenship, issued to a child born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent or parents, who meet the requirements for transmitting citizenship under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).. "

There is a paper trail, Ted sealed the records because he is not a natural born citizen.

Ted Cruz as a minor child of an American citizen was under the jurisdiction of the United States from the day he was born. He returned to the US when he was 4 years old. He was born a US citizen and has spent his life as a US citizen.

No. Just sick of the Treehouse and RedState articles that do nothing but start flame wars here.

Especially when both of them distort the facts

They have been trying for decades to change the 14th through legislation, they just haven't been able to get any of them out of committee ... https://constitutionallyspeaking.wordpress.com/2009/10/26/the-%e2%80%9ccongressional%e2%80%9d-natural-born-citizen-part-ii-shocked-outraged-or-ambivalent/

Excerpt: What would your reaction be if you heard that Congress was set in 2007 to bestow ‘natural born’ citizenship on ALL anchor babies through their Immigration Reform legislation. (110th Congress) S. 1348

Shocked? Outraged? Ambivalent?

What if you heard that Congress was moving to change Immigration & Naturalization laws so the every child born overseas to 1 citizen parent & 1 foreign parent would forever be deemed a ‘natural born’ citizen. (101st Congress) H.R. 1380, (99th Congress) H.R. 2535,

Shocked? Outraged? Ambivalent?

What if Congress had a bill waiting to come out of committee in February of 2008 that would change the citizenship laws of all children born to US parents serving in the military abroad(off US & US Territory soil) so that those children would now become natural born citizen at birth, but instead of following through with it, Congress sets the bill aside and passes a public resolution that holds one former military personnel’s citizenship in higher regard than all the others that are currently serving as if this person had some supremacy over the others. S. 2678

Shocked, Outraged? Ambivalent?

What if there was evidence of a bill introduced to Congress in 2004 to specifically change the definition of ‘natural born citizen’ from what the Framers meant it to be at the time of the adoption of the Constitution. S. 2128

Shocked? Outraged? Ambivalent?

What would your reaction be if you heard that there have been numerous attempts to remove the words ‘natural born citizen’ from Article II of the constitution in regards to Presidential qualifications so that ALL anchor babies could someday become President, regardless if their parents are still here illegally? (93rd Congress)HJ Res 325, HJ Res 880, HJ Res 890, HJ Res 896, HJ Res 993, HJ Res 1051, (94th Congress) HJ Res 33, HJ Res 86 (95th Congress) HJ Res 38 (106th Congress) HJ Res 88 (108th Congress) HJ Res 59, HJ Res 67, HJ Res 104 (109th Congress) HJ Res 2,HJ Res 15, HJ Res 42

Shocked? Outraged? Ambivalent?

And what if ALL these prior efforts were retroactive to ALL children born, that are alive today in the US and abroad.

Too bad the authors of the 14th explicitly said that it means not ‘owing any foreign allegiance’.

ie NO foreigners or Aliens.

So Rubio is not even a citizen under the 14th
