And we thought Joe Scarborough was the one who had it in for Marco Rubio . . . Turns out, Mika Brzezinski really doesn't dig Rubio. At all.
On today's Morning Joe, Mika painted Rubio as an unprincipled pol "sucking up" to Donald Trump in order to be his VP pick. Mika: "he's the only one who will go against everything he believes in and say whatever Trump wants him to. He'll do whatever Trump tells him to do." Ouch.

Here's the problem with Rubio.
First, he has sorely neglected his duty as a Senator.
He said he hates his job in the Senate.
Conclusion: No way would trump take on someone that didn't have a good work ethic.
That leaves most of the opposition on a bus out of town.

I fear that Trump may pick Rubio as a "unity candidate."
The only problem is we saw that once before: Reagan/Bush
Bush sold out the Reagan legacy...and brought us Clinton.
If it wasn't for George HW Bush, we'd be reading about the Democrat party in the History books.
I would like to see Trump pick Cruz. But if not Cruz, then some other proven Conservative.

She has a point, after the election, Rubio is out of a job and he will need to find real employment.

No VP for Cruz, I hope. He is needed in the Senate right now and SCOTUS, soon.

Rubio: ‘Sucking Up’
Is that some kind of hidden message Mika?

As much as I might like to see Cruz as VP, I think the logical choice is Kasich who can lock up Ohio in the general election. Besides, I rather have Cruz in the Senate if Trump is president.

Rubio’s future VP slot will depend entirely upon if Trump shows up at the convention with 1,237 delegates or not. Simple.

For a host of reasons, Trump would be a one term President, so we someone strong as Veep to step in and take over in 2020.
Rubio is not that someone.

I think she's hallucinating. The fact that Rubio isn't attacking Trump shows a pretty good campaign strategy. He's denying Trump the usual reason or excuse Trump uses to hit back. It also works to paint Rubio as the "positive" candidate, and Trump and Cruz as the "negative" ones. Rubio sets in at the most popular positive candidate, ahead of Kasich and Carson.

Somehow I doubt that will happen - Trump doesn’t play by those kinds of rules. Trump, if he is smart, will go with a conservative, to make sure the base comes out. Trump himself will capture the broad middle (which is very big - the white vote...even if Karl Rove can’t understand that). That leaves Hillary with the extreme left, which she’ll find out is quite small.

I don’t think any republican candidate will be his VP. He will pick someone else. Picking Rubio only encourage some nut to take out Trump so Rubio could be President. They tried to do it with Reagan

I am one of the idiots that donated to his senate run.
I helped him get elected to the job that he doesn't show up for.
I will not vote for anything with Rubio on it.

The same Mika that was sucking up to Trump off camera?
Shes hardly a fair source of news.

I thought this the other day. Kasich does have Washington experience and it would help to gain Ohio. That would effectively end his career too, I believe. Cruz needs to be somewhere useful, either Senate, Supreme Court, or Attorney General. Rubio’s career would end also as VP and is effectively over if he gets nothing.
