President Barack Obama is considering appointing a moderate Republican to the Supreme Court, a source close to the process said on Wednesday, but leaders in the Republican-led Senate held firm to their threat to block anyone he nominates.

The source said Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, a Republican and former federal judge, was among the possible candidates.

As much as the Uniparty hates having Ted Cruz in the Senate Obama ought to nominate him.
McConnell and Reid would give him whatever he wanted in exchange... oh wait- they give him whatever he wants anyway for nothing.

Nevada, a state and its politicians, regardless of party, are clearly owned by the mafia and are corrupted to the hilt. Like Harry Reid, Gov. Sandoval would not be governor if he didn’t kiss the mafia’s ass. I guess one could say the obozo, Harry Reid and Gov. Sandoval are blood brothers of corruption.

Yeah, like Nevada `Senator Geary’ in the movie `The Godfather’—caught in a whore house with a dead Democrat.
Betcha Sandoval comes with incriminating info. and owners’ manual. The GOP-ee should just shelve anything from Zero.

I concur. I only regret that we had no one else to vote for than the Bush mob. A stinking wasted vote if I ever gave one. Only Ronald Reagan is the person I really felt great voting for. EVERYONE of the others, since I first voted in 1970 makes me sick. All those votes for president and Reagan is the ONLY one I am glad I voted for. The rest makes me want to puke.

He is also what Obaama calls a "climate denialist."

That ought to be enough to deny him any hearings at all (as long as the GOP is *finally* showing the balls to prevent to hold the Democrats to their past posturing...)

He's a non-starter. McConnell and Grassley had better hold the line.

That would be a real Harry Truman type move by Obama. If I remember correctly, Truman said that Majority leader should call congress back in session when he ran in ‘48 and told them pass legislation and at least give him a chance to veto it.

Nominating a true conservative or even a semi-conservative is a smart move by Obama. It lets him say that the Republicans are paying politics with the court if they refuse to even vote on such a nominee and might, maybe, if they are lucky, energize the demodog base get PIAPS or Mr. Green Jeans elected where they can fill the next three vacancies with screaming fascist leftist Nazi’s

Someone must be giving Obama better advice. He is not normally that smart.

That said, Barrack Obama is no Harry Truman

What he’s doing is trying to taunt them into taking any kind of action on this guy, withdrawing him, and then putting up a liberal black or woman so he can accuse Republicans of racism and/or sexism.

I agree.

Obama is NEVER to be trusted.
