>>Both Donald Trump and his son have stressed that those wishing to return will have their applications EXPEDITED.

Break out that dictionary of yours and look up RETURN.

The USA imports over $2Trillion annually virtually duty free. A small 10% tariff would generate over $200 Billion a year. It is consumption based and very non intrusive. It also promotes domestic industry.

Think like a big businessman or politician.
Mexico can open an office “branch” of its embassy in any city or town in the US.
Since it is considered an embassy it BECOMES MEXICAN SOIL FOR POLITICAL AND LEGAL PURPOSES.
Once an illegal *steps onto the physical property* they are then on Mexican soil.
That is their *return* to Mexico.

Don’t think it can happen?
Remember the gymnastics that Roberts performed to justify Obama’s takeover of health care?

Look for more legal gymnastics.

Parse the words like a politician.

Forbes: Ted Cruz’s Business Flat Tax is a VAT

Ted Cruz’s and Rand Paul’s Strange Embrace of the VAT

The Tax Foundation: Ted Cruz’s “Business Flat Tax” is what most tax policy experts would call a “tax-inclusive subtraction-method value-added tax” (VAT) or a “business transfer tax” (BTT).

Do you have a problem with substantive discussion of the issues? Sorry to disappoint you, but FR is about ideas and discussion not just mindless cheerleading for Trump.

I’ll accept your apology for what you called me at any time.

That’s assuming you read the links I gave you and have informed yourself.

I did parse the words like a politician and I parsed them like a businessman.

The politician is a skilled liar, spender of other people’s money, maker of big promises. As long as he can promise the right stuff to the right people, he gets re-elected. He is NEVER accountable to anyone. His report card is written by HIM. He can say “I fought for..”, “I tried...”, and “I propose...” all day long and that is all he ever has to do to succeed.

The businessman has to meet payroll. He has stockholders to satisfy and the politician’s BS “I tried...” does not hold water in the boardroom. The politician’s “I propose...” does not put merchandise on the shelf.

If you don’t believe Trump and you believe the professional politician, then there isn’t much that I can say to change your mind. When you believe the politician over the businessman, you are the establishment.

That's one of the stupidest posts I've ever read on FR since I joined in 2004.

Here ya go, munch on this for example.

From the Tax Foundation article on Cruz’ plan you linked to:

“It would not be similar to existing sales taxes, or the VATs in Europe, because it would not be levied on a transaction-by-transaction basis.” Emphasis on the word, “not”.

I’ll be the first to admit I am not clear on all the various permutations of tax plans, but it does seem clear that the Trumpeters tend to dogmatically characterize the Cruz plan as being “just like” the European VAT taxes.

Technicality, as far as I’m concerned...bottom line is that if I can’t trust any of them, I’ll go with the guy that, as of yet, has not screwed me, and has no motive to (i.e., donors to please).

Trump will make adjustments to get the economy rolling again. The other two will stick with the plans that were typed up by someone else. They have theory from textbooks but Trump has experience and skills doing with people

That’s the anatomy of a Trumpster. When they can’t deal with the data what you get is an attack.

Won’t help a nit if the borders are kept wide open and we make socialist democrats out of all those who have and will invade our land.

Trump deals in fantasy. Your mistake is that you believe him.

BTW, when you burn it down, with what do you rebuild?

What good is a 'better' tax plan when your country is flooded with illegals?

Trump's not going to do anything about deporting illegals except MAYBE those with criminal records. The rest will be waved right back in, along with another horde.

It’s still an insidious, hidden VAT.

And his plan preserves the income tax.

This is one of the few ways you could make our horrific tax system even worse.

In fact I do believe he will start with deporting the criminal foreigners that local and federal LEOs can identify and find, and then squeeze off much of the rest from receiving pay or sending remittances and broadening and strictly enforcing employment prohibitions for illegal aliens causing them to increasingly self deport, while simultaneously building the wall section by section.

What you are articulating is Cruz' plan, not Trump's. Trump will offer "the good ones" an immediate return ticket if they leave. They'll take that deal in a heartbeat.

No, he won't. He'll build a wall and the door will be so big it will be irrelevant.
