Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China by Heather Long March 8, 2016 Donald Trump blasts companies like Ford and Apple for manufacturing products outside the United States. He even threatened to stop eating Oreo cookies after he learned some production was moving to Mexico. But Trump does the same thing.
Many of his products are made outside the United States. Most Donald J. Trump ties are made in China. Some Donald J. Trump suits are also made in China.
Donald J. Trump signature men's dress shirts are made in China, Bangladesh or "imported," meaning they were made abroad.
And it's not just Donald's products. Harvard professor and trade expert Robert Lawrence analyzed over 800 items in the Ivanka Trump fashion line. There are shoes, dresses, purses and scarves. All are "imported."
The top five countries that America imports clothing from are China (by far the leader), India, Vietnam, Pakistan and Mexico. Related: Trump tower's Chinese investors buy a path to U.S. citizenship
"In a recent debate Marco Rubio mentioned ties. But the ties made in China are just the tip of the iceberg," says Lawrence, who served on President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers.
Lawrence found that none of Ivanka Trump's clothing line appears to be made exclusively in the United States and 354 items are listed as made in China. Trump doesn't dispute this.
"I talk about my ties in speeches. I'm open. I say my ties many times are made in China," Trump told CNN's Jake Tapper in July.
"It's very hard to have apparel made in this country," Trump said.

I vote for Trump and my clothes are made in China, too, and so are yours!
He had Nothing? to do with that. Simple, he's so rich don't take the contract. Make a stand before before running for president.
So he basically just sold.himself to the highest bidder. There’s a word for that.
They are better at it. We are better at making F-22's F-35's...yeah, that's it! :)
Look SQUIRREL!
I’m just stunned.....(/sarc)
Most of what there is is based in Los Angeles, owned by Koreans, Armenians, or Middle Easterners, and staffed by as much illegal alien labor as they can get away with. So "Made in the USA" is a nonsensical concept in the garment industry. If you see it on a clothing label, you can rest assured that rather than helping to employ salt-of-the-Earth Americans you are actually promoting illegal immigration and being ripped off by a Mafia-like operation.
That’s it?? The tie thing??
Tell you what, if you don’t own a foreign vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle, golf cart, etc.), if you don’t own a foreign vehicle that was made in America, if the American car company that built your vehicle isn’t itself owned by a foreign corporation, then you can look down your self-righteous nose at Trump’s selection of ties.
P.S. And don’t even get me started on home appliances...
And your penis pills come from where?
You have obviously missed Trump’s push to make America competitive again. Trump has not once advocated for keeping America at a disadvantage. In fact, just the opposite. Sorry you can’t give him credit for the same thing Cruz is advocating.
I understand Cruz is your guy. Can you just try to make the discussion less personal and bitter? Seriously. I voted for Cruz in Texas. I am one of the people who put him where he is. I defended him against so many lib onslaughts. He is where he is do to thousands like me.
Let’s just agree to be honest.
Have you received a single reply from a Trump supporter acknowledging that there is any hypocrisy between Trump’s campaign themes and his practices? One? I can’t believe after getting through the first 30 or so posts not one of them seems to have the slightest doubt that Trump’s hypocrisy in this matter is no issue at all.
So my phone so my 3 flat screen TVs. Most of the clothes I buy probably come from India.
You’re grasping at straws. BTW. I support Cruz but can live with trump. I can’t live with Rubio, or Kasich. Your giving fodder to Hillary
The point I am making, Steely ol’ man, is that no matter what you buy in America in this day and age, it was made overseas. We used to make things in this country, but now we don’t. Trump is committed to fixing that. No one else, not even Ted Neil Bush Cruz, is going to fight for Americans against the New World Order.
Oh Pleeze! I just mentioned a US company that also has their stuff made in China. What’s the big deal either way? Okay, so Trump is running for president - none of the candidates are pure as the driven snow.
Blame poor little Teddy for anything? Oh, nooooo, poor little Teddy is as pure as wind driven snow. You keep on believing that now, ya' hear?
You’re absolutely right! There’s no inconsistency between being the champion of American workers and doing your own manufacturing overseas. No inconsistency at all.

Blah, blah, blah.....
