Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China

Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China by Heather Long March 8, 2016 Donald Trump blasts companies like Ford and Apple for manufacturing products outside the United States. He even threatened to stop eating Oreo cookies after he learned some production was moving to Mexico. But Trump does the same thing.

Many of his products are made outside the United States. Most Donald J. Trump ties are made in China. Some Donald J. Trump suits are also made in China.

Donald J. Trump signature men's dress shirts are made in China, Bangladesh or "imported," meaning they were made abroad.

And it's not just Donald's products. Harvard professor and trade expert Robert Lawrence analyzed over 800 items in the Ivanka Trump fashion line. There are shoes, dresses, purses and scarves. All are "imported."

The top five countries that America imports clothing from are China (by far the leader), India, Vietnam, Pakistan and Mexico. Related: Trump tower's Chinese investors buy a path to U.S. citizenship

"In a recent debate Marco Rubio mentioned ties. But the ties made in China are just the tip of the iceberg," says Lawrence, who served on President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers.

Lawrence found that none of Ivanka Trump's clothing line appears to be made exclusively in the United States and 354 items are listed as made in China. Trump doesn't dispute this.

"I talk about my ties in speeches. I'm open. I say my ties many times are made in China," Trump told CNN's Jake Tapper in July.

"It's very hard to have apparel made in this country," Trump said.

That’s because the Donald was right about one thing. He could shot people on the streets of NY and he wouldn’t lose his supporters.

Oh, silk ties made in China. Next we will have cheese made in France, watches from Switzerland, wool from New Zealand, and Persian rugs from Iran. Russian Vodka, anyone?

Lets expand that quote a little bit for clarification:

Trump admitted he had his clothing line manufactured in China and Mexico. But he claimed that it is “impossible for clothing makers in this country to do clothing in this country.”

so unravel this if you can: "impossible for clothing makers in this country to do clothing in this country"

“I think Trump is making the point that we need different rules so that US companies can compete with China. US companies agree!”

Right. Trump has become a billionaire under the current system. Trump hates the current system. He is going to fight so hard to destroy the system he understands and from which he profits.

Trump wants a new system to level the playing field where upstart competitors can take away market share from Trump.

Before, Trump couldn’t fight the system, but if you elect him president, then he will fight the system even if it costs him every cent he owns.

This is what the man wants you to believe.

Trump is talking about making it so that those things are made in the US in the future."""".....

Since he owns his name and some of the companies he has the POWER to bring those jobs back now........not in the future some time never. He outsourced them from the start. what a double talking con man

I don’t know. I am not particularly fond of several of Trump’s positions at this stage. Not sure how we ‘punish’ a company. I’d rather see improved policies to address the problems and not isolating individual companies. If we do what can be done to make the playing field a little more even, we can hopefully see more return to the US. Until then, I don’t blame businesses that cannot justify domestic manufacturing due to the massive cost burdens for each employee.

Wow, they are in the circle of endless excuses to excuse Trump for anything and everything, you know it has got to be very vexing for them at this point.

This one is so funny: "It is hard to find cloths made in here"

And the reason is??? maybe because people like Trump outsourced everything.....I know that is a hard concept to understand, but I sure wish they could at least try.

This is the guy who says he wants to ‘bring business back to America’."""".....

Yep, and he can do this starting with his own companies and he can do this TODAY. But alas, cheap labor is holding him back.

dynoman - Are you absolutely certain what you have published is true about Cruz taking money from certain corporations?

You say Morgan Lewis LLP contributed $67,550 to the Cruz campaign. And you say Goldman Sachs contributed $69,350 to the Cruz campaign.

The reason I ask is because contributions to presidential campaigns by corporations is against the law. That fact is generally well known.

Why do you say otherwise?

I’m a bit confused.

As I understand it, Trump is not he Manufacturer of any Clothing Line, he simply charges them a Licensing Fee for use of his Name the same way Johnny Carson did with the Manufacturer of his Clothing Line way back when.

Not sure how he could cancel on his Contract simply because the Manufacturer makes the Product Line overseas.

I thought the Trump Necktie line was discontinued when Macy’s cut their Relationship with Trump anyway.

I guess it could look hypocritical if Trump said that we will not import ANY Manufactured Items from China which of course would never happen unless China Nukes us.

BTW - Not a Trumpster, just a former Cruzer who has tired of all the CDS and TDS happening here.

Then he can say "look folks, I have many business ventures is many countries, and I know I said I want to bring jobs back and Make America Great Again. So here is what I will do, starting tomorrow I will begin to bring my own companies back to America, just in good faith on my promises."

but he won't he likes cheap labor.......

annie, you and the others at this thread expressing righteous indignation re: Trump’s fashion choices while wearing clothes made overseas, driving vehicles made overseas, cooking meals with utensils made overseas, etc., you sound a whole lot like Capt. Renault in Casablanca while closing Rick’s. Steelfish, altura, annieokie, are you careful to buy only American made products? You can if you’re willing to pay the increased price. Don’t whine about what Trump is buying or whether his or someone’s trade policy caused the exit of jobs. If you buy the cheaper foreign made products instead of the more expensively made domestic clothing, then you’re part of the problem by continuing to patronize the very system you accuse Trump of instigating.
Either you buy only American made or you don’t. Only the former group gets to bitch about Trump’s choices. The latter group, and their hypocrisy, should keep quiet...
