Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China by Heather Long March 8, 2016 Donald Trump blasts companies like Ford and Apple for manufacturing products outside the United States. He even threatened to stop eating Oreo cookies after he learned some production was moving to Mexico. But Trump does the same thing.
Many of his products are made outside the United States. Most Donald J. Trump ties are made in China. Some Donald J. Trump suits are also made in China.
Donald J. Trump signature men's dress shirts are made in China, Bangladesh or "imported," meaning they were made abroad.
And it's not just Donald's products. Harvard professor and trade expert Robert Lawrence analyzed over 800 items in the Ivanka Trump fashion line. There are shoes, dresses, purses and scarves. All are "imported."
The top five countries that America imports clothing from are China (by far the leader), India, Vietnam, Pakistan and Mexico. Related: Trump tower's Chinese investors buy a path to U.S. citizenship
"In a recent debate Marco Rubio mentioned ties. But the ties made in China are just the tip of the iceberg," says Lawrence, who served on President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers.
Lawrence found that none of Ivanka Trump's clothing line appears to be made exclusively in the United States and 354 items are listed as made in China. Trump doesn't dispute this.
"I talk about my ties in speeches. I'm open. I say my ties many times are made in China," Trump told CNN's Jake Tapper in July.
"It's very hard to have apparel made in this country," Trump said.

He has to deal with the situation at it is now, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to change it!
Guess these guys do not exist ?
20 Companies making Ties in the USA.

He's running for President doofus, what more do you want?
And CNN is worried where Trump get his suits? Where do they get their suits?
Maybe if CNN could practice journalism they could report on our domestic capability to produce suits, ties, and clothes. What is the trend?
The point is, the suits he manufactures, with his name on them, are made in china.
This is the guy who says he wants to bring business back to America.
Trump sells his name to vendors. Macy's, before they dropped him, had their Trump apparrel made in china. Trump had nothing to do with that. He has said he didn't like it, but that is to be expected.
I’m wearing the united nations.
Boots made in Brazil, Shirt made in Taiwan, Pants made in Korea.
The clothes I lend my name to or manufacture? Well, I’ve made a shirt and helped my daughter make a skirt once. They were made in Arkansas.
This is really silly. The man says he will change this situation from the way it is now, and bring these jobs back to the United States.
So what is the con? If the establishment, world wide it now appears, did not believe that Donald J. Trump could do the things he has promised to do, then they wouldn’t be as upset as they are that he is winning!
After Donald Trump finishes doing all the snake oil things he has promised: build the wall, deport illegals and Syrian invaders, cancel Obamas unconstitutional executive orders, roll back twenty years of intrusive government regulations, prosecute Hillary and her crew, release the secret 28 pages from the 9/11 report, negotiate prescription drug purchases, repeal and replace Obamacare, simplify the Tax code, repatriate $2.5 trillion in off-shore profits, stop the IRS from abridging the free speech of Christian Churches, reform the libel laws to remove the public figure distinctions, defund Planned Parenthood until the stop doing abortions, cleaning up the mess that is the VA, cutting waste, fraud and abuse where ever it is found, canceling Common Core and returning control of education to the States, end the assault on the Second Amendment, audit the Federal Reserve System, investigate the harmful additives in Vaccines and the coverup of studies at the CDC, and destroy the culture of Political Correctness, then we can talk about all those conservative issues you want to address.
Hong Kong tailors have been the choice for the mega wealthy for decades.
Your claim is that you are “undecided”; get off the fence and make a commitment to the future.
Jeb!s brother is now working for the campaign of Cruz. No more GPOe unless, of course, you support the establishment which wants to crush the sovereign United States.
America has no national security interest in making ties. Therefore the government has NO business telling people where they can make their ties.
I thought conservatives wanted a small government that didn’t attempt to try to run the economy from their ivory know-it-all tower? You’ve got Bernie Sanders to vote for if you want the government dictating rules to businesses.
“Lead by example Donald.”
Trump is leading by example, by demanding the establishment of actual free trade instead of fake free trade that causes U.S. businesses like his to be forced into bankruptcy if they try to manufacture such products in the United States under a severe currency exchange disadvantage.
So what? That great liberal company Apple has their products made there as well as many other American brand products.
There’s nothing “stupid” about our trade. In REAL economic terms, it is much cheaper to produce products in a third world country. Therefore there’s no reason for us not to do it. We can lower the price of many products and devote our resources to doing more innovative things.
No one is saying Trump WEARS clothing made in China - they are saying that the line of clothing that is sold under the Trump brand name is made in China and Mexico. The man who keeps promising to bring jobs back from China and Mexico sent the jobs for manufacturing his own products over to Mexico and China.
Now, Trump supporters will point out that what he is doing is legal, and that it is a good business decision to lower costs. All true. But then why is Trump pretending to be mad at Ford, for example, for moving manufacturing to Mexico when he has his own products made there? Isn't that a LITTLE bit hypocritical? Doesn't it make you wonder if he is serious about bringing jobs back, when he won't even do it with jobs over which he has personal influence and control?
> Steelie, how were things at the polling booth today?
That kid is going to be so screwed up.
In the 70’s the apparel industry moved to Hong Kong. It has not come back.
Do you think Rubio's panties are made in the US?
Though I agree that if you are looking for maximum profits you chose the best quality/cheapest labor you can find.
If however you are a billionaire and have principles tied to ‘made in america’ -— you don’t offshore.
