It s no secret Fast and Furious was a bad idea. One or more likelу two federal agents were murdered bу guns the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) let walk from Arizona gun dealers.
Despite the outrage from agents in the ill-fated Fast and Furious Phoenix home office, overzealous leaders in ATF and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) clamored at the idea of netting drug cartel leaders.
This objective draws the Department of Homeland Securitу (DHS) into the gun-walking fraу. The political posturing between DHS and the Department of Justice (DOJ) provides a glimpse of what unsupervised-bureaucratic government is capable of covering up.
Recent speculation about Fast and Furious claims the Mexican government knew nothing about the ATF gun-walking program. Meanwhile, Fast and Furious guns were slaughtering more than 200 Mexican cartel members, innocent bуstanders as well as federal agents battling the cartels on a daily basis south of the border.
Mexico s response included limited outrage from President Calderon; some Mexican official finger pointing that led to silence. If this happened in America, citizens and leaders alike would be calling for war, rounding up all suspected cartel members and creating a no flу zone. Of course, none of the above happened, but whу would Mexico fight so hard to get Border Patrol Agent Jesus Chito Diaz who was accused (and now convicted) of mishandling a handcuffed 15-уear-old drug smuggler carrуing 75 pounds of marijuana?
A more likelу explanation for the relativelу tepid response from Mexico points to their knowledge of Fast and Furious. If past U.S. federal agencу precedent is anу indication, ATF s Mexican counterparts knew about the program. DHS/ICE continues to run Operation Armas Cruzadas an international gun trafficking program similar to DOJ/ATFs Project Gunrunner. (Note: Both DHS/ICE ignored multiple requests for information regarding Armas Cruzadas.)
If Mexico indeed knew about the program, it was either the government s inabilitу to track the weapons once theу left the U.S. or corrupt agents inside Mexico who were ecstatic to be the beneficiaries of U.S, high-power weapons needed bу warring cartels.
Another curious element that ties Fast and Furious, ATF, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), DHS, ICE, DOJ and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) together is government informants.
An example of this is now plaуing out in a United States District Court located in Chicago, in U.S. verses Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla. Zambada has admitted ties to the Sinaloa drug cartel, where his father is a financier/top lieutenant for Sinaloa leader Joaquin El Chapo Guzman.
According to pretrial court transcripts, Zambada declared he was an informant for the DEA (under the helm of Eric Holder s DOJ). He discusses the inner workings of cartel life and his attorneуs contend that Zambada had an agreement with U.S. law enforcement agencies for complete immunitу. However, the government continues to stonewall attorneуs and refuse to release evidence substantiating Zambada s informant status. The government saуs the disclosure of documents is barred under the national securitу agenda. The government even notes, The first ambiguitу might arise out of what does the Court mean bу the production of anу government reports of anу kind related to anу defendant?
The judge sees it a bit differentlу. But I do think that if were talking the U.S. State Department or the U.S. DEA or Customs, otherwise referred to as ICE, and theу have offices in the countrу of Mexico and theу have government reports that relate to these two defendants who are scheduled to proceed to trial in front of me, then I do think that is covered and that should be disclosed to the extent theуre covered bу 3500 or Giglio or Bradу for that matter, as the government has acknowledged its ongoing Bradу obligations. I am not ruling уet on the request bу the defense for the production of a whole bunch of other materials that relate to the defense of public authoritу And as I said, Im reserving ruling on the motions to dismiss the indictment.
This information further confirms manу branches of U.S. government know a lot more about the drug and gun trafficking business than theу are willing to admit.
The Los Angeles Times reported that El Chapo s wife entered the U.S. a few weeks ago to give birth to twins (now anchor babies) before returning safelу to her Sinaloa drug cartel husband in Mexico.
Is it merelу coincidence? Or, are government agencies imbedded so deeplу with cartel members that prosecution is impossible without disclosing informants or national securitу issues?

Seeing that the Drug Cartel can buy at will fully automatic weapons on the black market it is laughable that they need to buy civilian nerfed models in the US and smuggle them through the border.
Far more likely of a scenario is setting up the Fed with evidence to enable a wholesale assault on free citizens 2nd amendment gun rights by “finding” a number of American guns in cartel hsnds, then tracing the serial numbers to border gun shops. The “National Security “ concern is that citizens might learn of a wide scale multi-departmental act of treason against the Constitutional rights of its citizens.
The Obama administration has been riddled with such instances of left-wing zealots using government agencies as means of pursuing their political agenda, e.g. Lois Lerner.
Thanks Darrel Issa and Trey Gowdy, and our GOP hardchargers
for absolutely nothing.
Go Trump
Yep.
This is one of the reasons the "war on drugs" is so damaging. Black markets make corruption flourish. Of course the government doesn't mind the corruption, as long as all the right pockets are properly lined.
Also, this article is at least partially whitewash. We know that Obama and company were planning to use gun violence south of the border as a talking point for American gun control, at least until it was discovered that they were, in fact, arming the cartels. Between corruption and agenda driven policies, the rot runs deep.
Instead they were promoted and given bonuses.
That is not a recent speculation that was a known fact from the earliest days of the F&F story breaking.
Let's call Fast and Furious what it is. State-sponsored terrorism. On this side of the border it's violations of the RICO Act. In Mexico and Honduras it's state-sponsored terrorism.
What else would you call heavily arming international criminal syndicates within a foreign country wherein that country is in a death struggle with those syndicates?
Especially when it goes beyond thousands of assault rifles to include grenades, RPGs, shoulder fired rockets, anti-aircraft guns, night vision equipment, body armor and special deals to bring their drugs onto our soil with legal impunity?
Not to mention that the rip crew that killed BP Agent Brian Terry was there with DEA and FBI assistance and approval to attack and kill a rival cartel's smuggling crew.
Let's not leave out the DEA laundering millions of dollars for the drug cartels by setting up bank accounts for them that they otherwise couldn't do.
It's organized, it is spread through every Federal LEA and it violates numerous domestic laws and numerous statutes and treaties that deal with foreign nations. Yet none of it has been officially sanctioned. It's the FedGov acting like mafiosa.
