Trump needs to read our Bill of Rights. Restricting purchases based on some watch list runs afoul of due process and of the right to keep and bear arms.
Who gets to define what a terrorist is? The liberals would say any NRA member. Donald I know it sounds good on the surface but from a practical standpoint it will not work and the liberals would take full advantage of it.

No problem IF the list is transparent, appealable, and with clarity on why someone on it. Terrorism, not politics.
There is no due process with the “terror” watch list, when they put aliases of terrorists and every permutation of a suspected terrorist on the list, and the innocent people with those names can’t figure out how to get off.
And there are public officials like Air Marshalls and a congressman who got off only to be put back on by some other process.

Of course this was just a gotcha question to Trump anyway. If he said no, the Headline would be “Trump supports Terrorists getting AR-15’s”.

If you're a law-abiding citizen, you should be able to buy a gun. What's to prevent the government from one-day suddenly saying "OK, everyone's on the list"?

I’ve heard there are over a million and a half people on this list and Obama has added 400K to the list.
Where is the due process?
Ultra slippery slope. What will be the next encroachment on our rights? And the next?
If Trump wins, conservatives can expect four or eight more years of this.
On the surface this sounds right to most people. I would expect Trump to keep going, though, and at some point ask why this or that person is on such a list. Omar wasn’t.
This, of course, sets the stage for a massive, future class action suit based on profiling,
1. The U.S. should declare WAR on ISIS
2. Impose a ban on ALL Muslims from entry into the United States from Sharia countries, as Sharia Law is A THREAT TO AND INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.
3. Since war on ISIS has been declared, American-citizen ISIS-sympathizers in the U.S. should be detained as ENEMY COMBATANTS and housed in GITMO.
4. Non-American-citizen ISIS-supporters should be DEPORTED and barred future entry into the United States
5. 2nd Amendment rights, NOT INFRINGED, remain in effect for ALL AMERICANS as they have been for over 200 YEARS.
Maybe this needs a little work, but it's a start.
The idea is not to let terrorists into the country in the first place.
