Trump needs to read our Bill of Rights. Restricting purchases based on some watch list runs afoul of due process and of the right to keep and bear arms.

There are some people incompatible with American citizenship and if you can’t purge them from the country for some strange reason, at least try to prevent them from carrying out paradise-seeking massacres of other Americans. I really don’t think the Founders would have had much of a dilemma on their hands about this. They’ve conditioned us to become paralyzed by dilemmas.

How is this any different than banning someone who has a restraining order on him,a non violent felony or any other excuse? I might agree IF any person prior to being placed on the list have a hearing to validate the claim.

Who decides? Given that Obama and the DOJ considers veterans, "bitter-clingers," and outspoken conservatives and libertarians as either terrorists or potential terrorists, Trump really needs to re-think that position.

I don’t support any further empowering of this government to take action against suspected terrorists, because this government treats normal American citizens as suspected terrorists, and it treats actual islamic terrorists as normal American citizens.

If someone is a citizen This is a right taken away without due process, which SHOULD be overturned in the judicial system.
If someone is not a citizen and on a watch list they should be thrown out of the country.
I have a hunch that after more discussions with NRA reps, Trump will adjust his position.
What I would be in favor of is some flag being sent to Homeland Security and/or the FBI if someone on the watchlist purchases a firearm. Increased scrutiny should then kick in. Perhaps confiscation of the purchased gun if some illegality on the part of the purchaser is determined. If the purchaser is a convicted felon, or is not a citizen, they should be denied from purchasing firearms. It’s hard to go beyond that and still show fidelity to the Constitution

News flash. Innocent people have been put on this list with no due process for a 14 years now.
The terrorist watch list is separate from the no fly list. That being said, the current list is defined by the current occupant of the white house.
The current occupant defines terrorists as bitter Christians clinging to their bibles and guns, while giving jihadi fucks like the one of many over the last few years that have violated gun free zones with extreme prejudice and killed Americans with virtually no repercussions.
All I can say is that the majority of politicians in the US need to be at least sent to the unemployment line, and at worst, need to be sent to Leavenworth for treason, sedition, and subversion.
FIRST Deport all non US on the list.

We all know it won’t do anything to prevent a terrorist from killing Americans if he/she is intent to kill Americans but the rest of the country is comprised of a lot of idiotic voters who think this is reasonable and we have an election we need to win and, furthermore, this will get the gun issue off the table for a while. This is the best deal we can hope for right now IMO.
