That poor woman had to have suffered horrific pain before she died unless they put her into a medically induced coma. And even then, we don’t really know that the person experiences, only that they don’t remember anything when they do wake up.
Any more, we are seeing more and more raw evil in our daily lives. More and More of us are experiencing it as our loved ones are tortured and murdered.
You NEVER, ever, get over it, you just learn to live with it as well as your altered existence. Justice is limited to the law and whatever the law spells out, but that’s where the human spirit comes in to refuse to allow bitterness to take root and grow. That however doesn’t, nor should it replace the penalties that our laws provide. Those are needed, too. One, to get this evil off off the streets to protect society from further injury and to cleanse society from this kind of evil, 2) to impose a righteous punishment (sins of the flesh will be punished in the flesh) upon people who refuse to discipline themselves.
I stand in support of the death penalty, because under the right circumstances it’s the best choice to accomplish both of what was said above. It doesn’t do much to deter others from committing capitol crimes, but it does cleanse and protect society both in and out of prison, and it’s an apt punishment for this kind of evil. Let’s not forget, sometimes people are imprisoned unjustly and simply because they can’t prove their innocence. And, just because a person has committed a crime requiring imprisonment doesn’t necessarily mean he/she deserves to die at the hands of another.
Does anybody remember BTK? Did you know that when he received his sentence, he was supposed to be deprived of the kinds of items he used to exploit his victims such as magazine pictures and such? Did you know he has his own cell, his own television, his own computer and has privileges that other prisoners DON’T have??? I speak to people all the time who’ve actually SEEN this. And they resent it.
Is such a privileged existence in prison ‘justice’?
Maybe a TV in the hallway that he can’t control if he’s locked up 24/7 ...like the other prisoners get, but to have his OWN??? And it’s on OUR hard earned dollar???
I know children whose dogs were stolen from them by him, and then the dogs were killed to test his killing methods.
That’s not justice and those families suffered, too.
It’s sad to think that some refuse to believe in a ‘JUST’ God, because that unbelief makes life ....unimportant and contributes toward more injustice. But if you know that if you have to face stuff at the resurrection and judgement, that you didn’t get a pardon for evil without repentance...If you knew that for SURE...actions would be different.
God help us.

I think that's counterproductive.
I don't know that I accused you "knee-jerk race-baiting". I simply opined my belief that such a thing is counterproductive in a time period where Donald Trump is trying to reach out to some of the very same people who would rightly offended by some of the racial insensitivity that is on display at times. If that weren't the case, we wouldn't see so so many "Post #123 deleted by moderator" messages.
So I wasn't particularly singling you out for criticism.
Part of the reason I responded to your post in the first place was because it was a relatively mild post, not because it wasn't.
I hope Trump is successful in his minority outreach, and indeed I think it could be critical to his ultimate victory.
