Philippines Duterte Says ‘Bye, Bye’ to US, Its Aid
Voice of America ^ | December 17, 2016 | VOA News

Posted on 12/17/2016 9:58:00 AM PST by Trump20162020

Possibly thinking a major U.S. aid package had been terminated, an enraged Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte said “bye, bye” to America in retaliation Saturday and threatened to dissolve an agreement that allows U.S. troops to visit the Philippines.

The Millennium Challenge Corporation, a U.S. government aid agency, did not actually cancel the aid. Instead, the agency deferred a vote on the renewal of aid for the Philippines “subject of a further review of concerns around rule of law and civil liberties.”

Duterte won the presidential election earlier this year largely based on his promise to aggressively target drug dealers and criminals.

Philippine police and vigilantes have killed at least 3,600 people for drug use and drug sales since Duterte took office at the end of June.

“We can survive without American money,” Duterte said, “but you know America you might also be put to notice. Prepare to leave the Philippines. Prepare for the eventual repeal for the abrogation of the Visiting Forces Agreement.”

0bozo is heading for his Christmas vacation to Hawaii; anything happens the MSMLSD will blame president elect Trump for whatever happens in the world. Right now they’re blaming him for the disaster in Aleppo.

My Philippine families haven't mentioned any users killed, only pushers/dealers who resist arrest during drug house raids.

What do your PI contacts report?

Morocco, Jordan and Indonesia all receive aid from the MCC... and all allow for the death penalty for drug trafficking. Hmmm... what do these three countries have in common with each other, but not with the Phillipines? Hyprocrisy indeed.

That is probably true, but with that will come a hidden price for the Philippines that may make it not so good for them in the final analysis, so to speak.

Just got back from 3 months in Mindanao.
It is almost 100% people who refuse to stop at a police road block, people who pull a gun on the police while being arrested, and the drug networks killing each other off because they fear being ratted out by their peers. This is NOT random doors being kicked in by cops and murdering people.

And the numbers are not much different from prior years.

The sensationalist media is BULLSHIT.

Duterte is overwhelmingly supported by the Filipinos.

I do, too. He probably understands that the USA and CIA have been the largest drug runners in the history of the world.

We have flooded the USA intentionally and other nations with drugs to destroy our young people and control other countries (make them into our slaves). and make billions for cartels, like the Clintons and Bushes and bankers/foundations. (research the Coke brothers; bush and clinton).

Duterte may know that one of the chief ways we brought in “drugs” was through the military, since our corruption goes to the top of CIA forever. Don’t know if he is the “good guy” or a “bad guy”. But the USA has been involved in very evil actions (unconstitutional) for decades which has killed and destroyed many millions of young people—mostly men—which has devastated the family, women and children in horrible ways.

We really need to bring Virtue back into our Constitution. Freedom can not exist without it. Virtue is embedded in our Justice System since Justice is the Queen of Virtue in Western Civilzation. We have a Vice system today thanks to irrational, evil “lawyers” and “judges”.

We need God/Christian Ethics, BACK-—since all unjust, evil “law” is “null nd void” anyhow. We need SCOTUS members in prison for Treason, etc.

Until our country is cleaned up, it is as evil as any Marxist country-—because we actually are a totalitarian-acting country and the masses have allowed our Constitution to be obliterated in 1913 and since. Good people are NOW being jailed, FINED and DESTROYED because they do not believe in irrational satanism or Marxism (group-(non)-think) where Men are Women, Slavery is Freedom, Welfare (theft) is “good”, etc.

How much money is the PRC kicking back to obama to throw the Philippines to the chinese wolves?

Obama is a devout muslim communist sympathizer. Duterte should hold off before rushing to judgment. The Philippines has its own domestic problems to deal with. They don't need this crap right now.

Wait until Trump is sworn in, then start talking with the US.

The guy has a screw loose. Check that, “screws” loose...

One day he’s against us.

The next day he’s happy with us.

The next day he’s unhappy with us.

Yikes.

A few interesting replies here.

I like some of the expressions made by Duterte, I think some of his methods leave a lot to be desired.

Without going into detail, his handling of drug dealers is really ‘fire with fire’ or should I say fear.

You lie to yourself if you believe that a death penalty is not crimes greatest deterrent. I am not talking about what is crime here, so let us not go there.

It is interesting note I want to make; that all the Filipinos I have known had a strong fondness for gambling and those that I knew would gamble on anything.

Although in the grand scheme of things the islands and its pop. are insignificant this story will be quite intriguing to watch.

I am just saying -if sh** hits the fan - humanity has a longer history of genocide then peaceful co-existence, the islands willed be rolled over by a superior warring power.

Self preservation. History does repeat itself. Can you see ‘alliance time’,

Wonder on which ‘side’ are the bets being placed?

Your #27 raises a good point; perhaps more immediate is poinq's concern in #12 upthread.

One can imagine Trump's proposed cabinet and intell folks are presently fast tracking and advising him to back-channel with Duetre asap.
