I have a question, if you shot an armed intruder in your house like the guy in Broken, would it bother you much? I don’t think it would bother me much.

I find drunk, naked Mexicans on my property to be a great threat to my family.
I actually felt in fear for my life when reading this story.

the article said he was a teacher so he had to be mentally aware. The leftism prevalent among the teaching profession belies that statement.

Something here just doesnt make any sense to me. You make a great point.
Maybe it started as a shower pour deux.
Little scrub-scrub-scrubby of his chub-chub-chubby.
There is an aspect of the hysterical in all this.

"I'd be really careful with anything I "learned" on Free Republic regarding the lawful use of firearms and self defense." Dittos. I argue over these cases all the time. Including this one.

Assault with a deadly weapon. The point is he left the house, went and got a gun and then came back. As soon as he left the house any fear of personal danger was gone

As for the shooter, the bullet holes in the shower curtain worry me. Its hard to justify whatever fear is required for a shooting if the (drunk, drugged, or crazy) criminal is still in your shower and youre not. Obviously, it would be an entirely different situation if they were both led up in the shower! When there are considerable differences between ages and size, I'd say that could be cause for fear for one's safety, particularly at close range and if the recipient is stumbling drunk out of the shower while tangled up in the curtain- or seems to be.
59 years old, 31 years old; about twice the age of the elder to the younger.
Bruce Fanning, the 59-year-old shooter is on the left. Housebreaker Nathaniel Rosa, 31, is on the right.

I don’t think I would either. If I killed someone where I had every right, I don’t think I would dwell on it much.

you cannot hang up a cell phone from a 911 call. Sure you can. They want you to keep the line open, but the second you call they have your location.
