There is so much fake news. I hope it is untrue that Trump is swayed by the hysterics of his daughter to break his pre election promises and lead us into war.

“I trust him but I have strong reservations about Ivanka and her husband.”

Remember those 2 were advising candidate Trump through all the primaries & the general election. He won despite the MSM, Soros & Co, Cankles & her minions, the GOPe & the rest of the Swamp. I’d say Trump’s done quite well with Ivanka & Jared, Bannon, Miller & Kellyanne advising him.

And now we hear from Eric that it was Ivanka’s tears that prompted this stupid air strike and now regime change!

An attempt by the Trump administration to emotionally manipulate the American people in an effort to deflect rational questions and criticisms regarding the strike? Comes across as ludicrous.

If this is true she needs to resign and he needs to apologize for responding with feelings.

I agree - if it is true. I have a hard time believing he could be this stupid.

Where is the outrage of ISIS crucifying Christians, or lopping off heads, or burning people alive. Ivanka needs some damn perspective.

Ivanka said she was a registered independent. She’s still young give her a chance to see how the world really works. I see no valid reasons to speculatively extrapolate her to “liberal”.

Just the ones using them or threatening to use them is what I gather. But hey, once the genie is out of the bottle, these distinctions become superfluous.

What does Amy Carter think?

I'm not asking her. You ask her.

It's tough to be disappointed and people always try to rationalize rather than deal with disappointment.

I a few years ago when I realized McMaster was always on the periphery of if not in the middle of a lot of the crap Barry was pulling with the military I rationalized that away by figuring he was trying to stay involved and limit the damage Barry was doing. That got impossible to believe given the absurd stuff being done when I found out he was very good friends with and worked closely with Susan Rice, constantly promoted and defended Petraus, and has worked hard to further the career of Linda Weissgold who helped come up with the whole series of Benghazi lies. He even wants Trump to hire her now for this or that.

That's just too much rationalize away but a lot of people do.

It's a real shame, but people who you respect and trust sometimes disappoint you in unexpected ways. Given that McMaster wrote Dereliction of Duty spelling out how during the VN war LBJ and MacNamara both cared about almost everything except their troops in the field, it was tough for me to believe he'd changed.

So, a guy who stood up and said what thousands of others should have said but didn't years later turns into the same kind of go along to get along insider as the people he exposed years ago. Whoda thunk it?

Regards

Ivanka’s RNC speech, which got rave reviews by some here, for some reason that escapes me (sounds good to young people? I guess I’m getting old, it sounded to me like she thought she was at the other convention), told me all I need to know about her.

Jared is a mystery to me, though I heard he hates Fat Boy Christie and that’s why Chubs doesn’t have a role in the administration, so that’s something positive at least.

It was a sickening liberal speech that was obviously the kind of thing she was going to say knowing everything that was revealed about her during the primary...hosting fundraisers for Cory Booker and same-sex marriage, complaining about the “pay gap” for women and being BFFs with Chelsea Clinton.

What does the Syria strike accomplish? Convincing Assad to kill people in a more palatable fashion? Oh, goody.

Worse yet, what if Syria ignores the strike and launches chemical weapons again? Then we “have to” bomb him again. But if the first attack didn’t work, will it have to be stronger this time? What if he keeps thumbing his nose at the administration? Trump will “have to” take him out then to not look weak. Then what do we do, occupy the country like Iraq or throw it to the wolves like Libya?

This bombing suddenly gives us a stake in the war which gives Assad a lot of control over our next move, not a good position for us to be in.
