Glenn Beck spoke with CNN’s Anderson Cooper tonight about President Trump changing his position on issues like NATO and China this week.
Beck––who also weighed in on the behind-the-scenes drama regarding Steve Bannon––said that for a lot of people, Trump was their “last hope” because of how different he was from so many other politicians. And he wondered how all those people feel today.
Cooper said that it looks like Trump is now embracing positions that he successfully ran and won against.
“The president,” he added, “is on the verge of beginning to look like another Republican who said stuff, didn’t mean it, and turned into Reince Priebus or Paul Ryan, and that’s not good.”

Can’t believe my local radio station still carries Glenn Beck.
BTW he effectively labeled China a currency manipulator long ago. He meant what he said. He unquestionably got results.
What more, exactly, are people who are mad “Trump won’t label China a currency manipulator, he went back on a campaign promise” looking for??
This is why I’ve coined the label “absolutists”. They are people who, among other things, take Trump literally, i.e. expect him to “label China a Currency manipulator” no matter what happens. Like it’s an absolute set in stone that under no circumstances can be changed. That is foolish. Situations change, Trump adapts. Why would anyone want Trump to not adapt like so many other politicians do? Like Mitch McConnel on election night thinking the republicans were going to lose the presidency, the house and the senate. That’s an example of rigid non-strategic, non-adaptive thinking.

I think the FC should have been called out. Absolutists of all stripes should be called out. FC was bragging up the 2015 repeal bill, they revived it last month, where is it now?? They could have had it ready for Trump on day 1 but did they? No. It’s a farce like it always was. It’s an example of how absolutists who can’t adapt to reality end up getting NOTHING done.
I happened to catch part of his radio show last week. Sounded like an old Air America broadcast.
Seems to be a lot easier to assertain what the President said and means
than what beck said and means

If the bill is viable the sale should be easy to make with Trump and all others. It’s not viable, it’s that simple, that is the REALITY.
It’s like people who say “get the government out of HC completely”, ok, that means SSI, Medicaid, medicare, VA, etc. It’s an absolutist position that is not viable. It’s DOA.
