(CNN)The 11-year-old girl was relentlessly bullied. And the culprit, police say, were her teachers.
One of them told the girl to "go kill herself" and threatened to fail other students if they didn't fight the girl, police said. And when that teacher was removed from the classroom, a second teacher allegedly kept up the abuse. The two Louisiana teachers, Ann Marie Shelvin and Tracy Gallow, now face criminal charges.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said he learned of the accusations back in February after the girl's mother filed a complaint. The mother returned to the sheriff's office in April to say the abuse was continuing. Deputies said Shelvin, a teacher at Washington Elementary, threatened to fail three of her students if they didn't fight the girl. She also allegedly told the bullied girl to "go and kill herself." In a police report obtained by CNN, a student involved in the incident told deputies that Shelvin forced her to start a fight that resulted in several students sent to the principal's office.

Also, did she have a teaching credential? She is a “former teacher’s aide” but it doesn’t say she was qualified to replace a certificated teacher.

I went through something similar myself in 9th grade. My father died when I was only 7 and there were no other positive male figures in my family to fill the void so I was a rather wimpy kid and not good at all athletically.
In 9th grade PE I was taunted by the other students for my inabilty to play any sport well. But it was the teacher often got the taunts started when he mocked the way I swung a bat or kicked a ball. I was such a wuss, so it was pretty humiliating. So often I would skip suiting up for PE. I wound up having to many non suits and the teacher failed me. Im certain he enjoyed giving me that F!
People of mixed race often end up with a particularly striking appearance. For instance, Mexican natives when mixed with Europeans sometimes produce amazing red-haired children. There’s a Mexican couple in my church with a daughter who’s a dead ringer for the heroine of the Disney movie “Brave.” The parents and their other children have dark hair, dark eyes, and light-tan skin color.
And you’re right, none of this negates the statistics on the disproportionate school disruptiveness of black students. On the other hand, school also reeked for those of us who had mostly white classmates.

What? How did these two low-life pieces of excrement ever become “teachers?” They should be imprisoned immediately and never allowed to be around children again.
Yet another reason to fear for the future of today’s children.
Actually, I was surprised after I read the names and then saw the photos-not typical names for black people these days.

There are worse things than school although it does not seem like it at the time. Whenever I am under stress I dream that somehow I discover that I never actually had the credits needed to graduate and have to go back to high school.
I swore when I graduated that no child of mine would ever have to set foot in one of those kiddie prisons. Nothing I have seen or learned since has changed my mind.
My husband has some Cherokee ancestry. We have one son - out of ten children - who has dark skin, astigmatism, and a dearth of facial and body hair. He’s also 6’4”, almost 300 lbs., and looks just like a bear. All the rest of us (including my husband) are pale.
The thing is, I never experienced pioneer misery. We had a Datsun station wagon to move cross-country! On the other hand, we also had Siamese cats, and a cross-country drive with an enraged Siamese is really loud.
But seriously, I wouldn’t send a child I hated to school, and I don’t have a child I hate.
That’s because these two are likely in there mid to late 40s, if not 50s, so they still had parents who actually used their brains.
My parents were saints. Or they were just kept thinking that at journeys end they would be able to dump us with our grandparents and have two blissfully kid free weeks. :)

It’s funny how genetics works. I am dark blonde with curly/kinky hair that everyone wants to touch, with striking pale blue/hazel eyes, and dark (looks like I have been in a tanning booth) skin. Out of my four children, only one inherited my dark skin and eyes. Two have dark hair and green eyes, and one is a red-head and very pale skin and green eyes. One passed away four years ago, but he had the same pretty features.

My brother was bullied mercilessly for being short and skinny. It affected him in a major way.
My entire Family..4 sibs were short and skinny, My Mom and Dad were short and skinny.
Teacher’s encouraged it in a way that was insulting and subversive, and that was 40 years ago.
We lived in a very nice place, the irony was never lost on me.
Being hated for being smart and successful is to us, just a passage of life.
You just learn to ignore it after awhile.. there is no other choice.
