Republican Cowards Surrender Again to Democrats Over Threat of Govt. Shutdown
Self | May 2, 2017 | Stayfree

Posted on 05/02/2017 4:16:46 PM PDT by Stayfree

At first RINOs complained that they could not accomplish anything unless they had control of the House, then the next excuse was that they needed control of the Senate, then the next excuse was that they needed control of the Presidency, then there excuse was that we can't risk shutting down the government, then the next excuse will be that the Democrats will retake over everything, including the Congressional restroom....

I’ve started writing to my congress critter and I’m going to continue it weekly. Build the wall and support President Trump’s agenda.

This would not be happening if Ted Cruz had been elected! He would have been able to get the Democrats to go along with dismantling the Administrative State!

And if Ted had lost to Hillary, then we wouldn’t be having this problem, either!

The video on this page with Mcalvany is great!

It is also total B$. Did he explain the funding in the bill to bring more Muslims into the country or the full funding for PPP and sanctuary cities? H2B low skill worker visa's? No what we got was increased military spending which was going to happen anyway, what a victory. Pence was singing the same song on Rush today and Rush didn't buy it either.

Desperate attempt to justify stupid.

Watch his entire presentation. If Obama had signed a CR before he left Office, we wouldn’t have gotten a thing until the new 2017-2018 Budget was presented.

Yes but if he had signed it the dems would have gotten less too. There is no way to make a purse out of this sow's ear but keep trying after all 60 million people in this country are stupid enough to vote for Hillary maybe they will believe this too.

What the heck are you talking about? The Democrats didn’t read the bill too well. Per Newt today and Mulvaney it says no funds for “brick and concrete” wall. Nothing about Steel. And that is what is exactly happening. Learn the facts not what the media is telling you.

He is not going to veto this. It is a CR on Obama’s budget.

Let the dems gloat and understand just who is feeding you your political news.

Why the deflecting away from responsibility for Trump? The shutdown happened before because Obama refused to sign the bill. He stood his ground and won.

What’s stopping Trump from doing the same now? During the last shutdown, the media blamed Congress for causing the shutdown because they gave Obama a bill they knew he wouldn’t sign. It would be hilarious to see the media now blame this shutdown on Trump because Congress gave him a bill they knew he wouldn’t sign. A shutdown now could be used to expose media hypocrisy. And if we follow the logic of the last shutdown, it’s Congress’ fault, not Trump’s.

Trump refusing to refuse to sign the bill is why we are getting a bad bill. He has more responsibility in his hands for this than anyone else because he has the power to not sign the bill and the biggest bully pulpit to demand what he wants.

He has the political capital of winning the election. It’s standard practice that the President gets his agenda passed when he wins. For him to simply cave in without a fight is the single weakest thing Trump has done as President.

Trump managed to get something that he didn’t think he could - money for the military and money for a Steel wall. Watch the presser and learn. Yes the Rep are not as unified as the Dems, but the Dems don’t know how to read a bill and the “fine print”. Trump’s first budget will be this September and then watch. Remember it takes 60 votes in the Senate. This was not the original rule, but something started years ago. Get back to the original majority votes.

LOL, and you think that if Booker wins the presidency in 2020 that he is going to sign a CR on Trump’s budget? The Dems will wipe out Trump’s agenda on day one and gloat about that.

The Repubs, Trump included, simply don’t appear to hate the Dems’ agenda as much as the Dems hate theirs. We all know right-leaning Dems are all but dead while we have many left-leaning Repubs. That’s a problem that’s not Trump’s fault. But that only gives him more reason to make his demands clear. The shutdown is the leverage he has to make a deal happen. The President has the biggest microphone to make it clear the shutdown is Congress’ fault, something much harder for Congress to pin on the President.

The knives are out for Trump on FR.

I guess they figure Hillary in charge of the next 80 years would be better.

The “he’s better than Hillary” defender of Trump is a pathetic grasp for a silver lining that’s not there. Trump is either collaborating with the Rino’s (see the RyanCare fiasco) or backing down like a whipped puppy (see the continuing resolution). Trump made the promises. People who didn’t like him as a person supported him because they believed he would stand up to the cretins on Capital Hill. 100 days and he’s the Compromiser in Chief and starting to enjoy the smell of rotting swamp gas.

“Trump managed to get something that he didn’t think he could - money for the military and money for a Steel wall.”

Trump didn’t get money for a steel wall, it was already in the budget. They were putting up this steel wall during the Obama administration.

He has done remarkably well in these first 100 days and I see that glass half-full.

You don’t win every fight. I have two years of patience as that is how long it takes to get a real agenda going.

If you are disappointed then so be it.
