Senators went into a recess skeptical over whether they could agree to legislation repealing and replacing ObamaCare.
They will return on Monday more doubtful than ever.
Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), one of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnells (R-Ky.) most loyal allies, said Thursday that its unlikely the GOP will get a healthcare deal.
I dont see a comprehensive healthcare plan this year, he told a local news station.
Senate Republicans hoped to have a draft bill this week, but it now looks like there will at best be an outline.

So many politicians trying to obstruct President Trump's policy initiatives; the political establishment will never get it. We the people must speak loudly and clearly to them, especially on election day.
The leopard never changes his spots. These cowards will destroy us.
The “Deep State” would rather have Republican losses than Trump successes. He threatens so much free money. Look at the billion he just denied the climate hustlers.
No surprise there, wait till we see the (next) budget that Trump signs!
You’re right—we’re the ones who will ultimately pay the price.
More like a trillion over a decade, once Paris was fully cranked up.
Good to see you again Mitch. Working hard or hardly working?
Dumb question Chuck.
Hey, when’s our next vacation?
I don’t see a republican majority next year. What a bunch of dirty lying unprincipled cowards.
The Constitution gives the feds NO authority to meddle in healthcare from which they need to be completely.
Healthcare, and many other areas of life in our country, needs a federal-ectemy.
F’in bastards I despise them!!
I’ve only voted for one democrat in my entire life: Dixie Lee Ray, when I turned 18 (1972).
If Obamacare is not repealed by the next election cycle, I will not only not vote for a single republican in any congressional race. I’ll vote straight D.
If only to speed up the collapse so the phoenix can rise from the ashes sooner.
Let ObamaCare fail. It fails because no Dem will vote for the required overhaul. Unfortunately, the Republicans are too stupid to word it that way.
GOP a lost cause...
Trump should read these fools the riot act...
Should start a third party..
Same old song:
We have the House, we need the Senate
We have the House and the Senate, we need the presidency
We have the House, the Senate and the presidency, now we need a majority in Congress
Most Republicans love big government and sticking it to the populace just as much as democrats. They will always find an excuse to do the wrong thing. They will let out a big sigh and submit to single payer. VA standard care for everyone (except public employees and Congress)!
Pubs do not care if they have the senate. They answer only to their money masters. Do not hold your breath, obamacare is here to stay.
BAIT & SWITCH Healthcare
REPEAL not “Comprehensive”
COMPREHENSIVE Anything SUCKS = FU voters
Congress is no Doctor
Congress is no Nurse
Legalise Doctors & Nurses
Following the ratification of that seventeenth progressive POS amendment to the Constitution the Senate has been turned into Glorified Representatives from the Founders vision of Protectors of States Rights. Thus from their high and exalted position in Government they are free to play whatever games it takes to preserve their kingly fiefdom.
