American Express today again refused to withdraw its sponsorship of The Public Theater's adaptation of Julius Caesar, which is now playing in New York's Central Park. The play depicts the brutal assassination of President Donald Trump as he is stabbed to death by multiple assassins. Other theater sponsors, including Delta Air Lines and Bank of America, withdrew their sponsorship from the theater earlier this week.
Despite today's attempted massacre of two dozen Republican lawmakers by a leftist gunman provoked by violent anti-Trump rhetoric, American Express stands firm in its corporate support of The Public Theater. In a phone conversation with Member Since 87, American Express denied any link between this morning's terrorist attack and AMEX's financing of the anti-Trump violence depicted in the play. Concerned American Express customers are being referred to Corporate Social Responsibility crisis managers, who may only be contacted by email.
My corporate American Express is on the way out. I talked with my banker yesterday and I have another business card on the way.
Is this the American Express Credit Card? I will do away
with mine if so!!!
And charge card and bank
Yes. I will just stop using mine. I will use another card.
I have a AE card but never use that card. So I guess I
am okay.
You are probably better if you close it down.
Just leave home without it.
I’d like to hope Karl Malden who used to push AMEX would agree.
“The Anti-American Express Card — don’t go to a baseball game without it.”
Good one. That will stick.
I’ll keep my American Express. Only credit card I have and I’ve had it for 25+ years.
As for Amex they sponsor Public Theater and Public Theater funds this asinine play and has 16 other plays scheduled for 2017 which probably all suck in one form or another...
It’s in NYC run by a socialist, Marxist mayor. What do you expect?
I’m not a “theater type” person and I hate cities and anything close to them because of the scum and corruption that makes up every city.
I buy gas and we eat out occasionally and AMEX works just fine.
I’m going to cancel my Am Ex card.
Easy decision.
Delta Air Lines and Bank of America also sponsor The Public Theater, but chose not to hide behind the lame excuse that American Express is offering. You might want to look at video of the Trump assassination scene and consider why Delta and BOA refused to be associated with it.
Did you call the 800 # on the back of the card? I am disgusted by this, have had AM EX for decades.
Seen the scene repeatedly on every damn news channel and web sites.
Delta airlines supports gay marriage and lesbian and gay travel with a pride take flight web page.
Bank of America gives bank accounts and credit cards to illegals and funds planned parenthood.
I’ll stick with AMEX and their lame excuse.
American Express would like to clarify that our sponsorship of the Public Theater does not fund the production of Shakespeare in the Park nor do we condone the interpretation of the Julius Caesar play, the company tweeted.”
Thats only slightly disingenuous, because, as anyone with common sense knows, once the funds go into the Public Theaters coffers, they mix together and can be used to fund any production.
As an AMEX card holder I contacted AMEX yesterday and got the top response. I told them that funds are commingled and until they apo9logize to President and Mrs Trump for their stupidity, I will no longer use their card.
I hope others do the same.
I’ve been a platinum card holder for 29 years. Yesterday I told Amex that I would not use the card again until they stop funding this. I don’t think they care. Their execs want to curry favor with their Manhattan pals.
So you support the play that suggests we kill Trump.
Wrong choice!
Dump Anti-American Express
