Report: At Least Three GOP Senators To Oppose Health Care Bill (chuck todd 'solid source')

A group of at least three Republican senators are planning to openly oppose the newly-released Republican health care bill, NBC's Chuck Todd reported Thursday.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) released the text of the bill Thursday after more than a month of speculation.

"For the past seven years, Obamacare has continued to hurt the people we represent," McConnell said on the Senate floor. "For the past seven years, Republicans have offered ideas for a better way forward. And soon, we will finally have the chance to turn the page on this failing law."

But the host of "Meet the Press" reported a "solid source" told him that some Republicans are already opposed to the Senate draft.

Todd did not name the senators in question, but 11 GOP senators have already voiced concerns about the bill, according to a Washington Post analysis. .

Even some of the senators who served on the Republican working group that helped drafted the bill have expressed frustration with the drafting process.

"It has become increasingly apparent in the last few days that even though we thought we were going to be in charge of writing a bill within this working group, it's not being written by us, it's apparently being written by a handful of staffers who are members of the Republican leadership in the Senate," Sen. Mike Lee (R., Utah) said Tuesday.

But Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, issued a joint statement with Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Rand Paul, R-Ky., indicating he is “not ready” to vote in favor of the bill.

I would love it if someone would ask why the government thinks it needs to be in the healthcare business and where they get the authority to do it.

The conclusion is now inescapable. We will never again have market-based health care in this country.

Don’t forget, Obamacare is STILL the law of the land. This bill and the House bill are not law and may not ever be law.

If the bill in its final reconciliation form does not pass, then Obamacare stays in place, where it will collapse of its own weight and lack of money.

That will end BOTH.....................

GOP: Just repeal the damn thing, as you PROMISED.

“The Affordable Health Care Act is hereby repealed in its entirety.”

A one-sentence bill. Stop fooling around with this nonsense, Republicans. You could do it all these years when you knew if would be vetoed by Obama, but now you suddenly have erectile dysfunction.

Useless idiots.

You do know that Olympia Snowe is no longer in the Senatae, right?

Lee, Johnson, Cruz, and Paul are against it. Collins will oppose it because it defunds Planned Parenthood. Murkowski, Portman, and Capito will oppose it for the Medicaid cuts. I’d be surprised if there are 40 votes for it.

And her replacement King's basically a Democrat.
