I think if brake failure was the issue the car would have stopped in the ditch. To make it all the way across the ditch I think the driver had to have been using the gas pedal. Really strange, not sure I believe their story. Of course it doesn’t matter what I think. I guess their story was good enough for the officials.

People should keep in mind that full brake system failures are extremely rare nowadays since all vehicles (by law) must have redundant hydraulic systems. You might have a partial loss of braking, but not total. You can also have loss of power assist, but that just means you have to push harder on the pedal. Plus, all vehicles have emergency brakes.

Correct. This was weird. I saw the lead cycle-—which possibly is way ahead to block off intersections as are some of the follow ons-—but no cycles next to the limo (not that a motorcycle could have stopped a car like that).

Well ground temp would be warm mid afternoon sw Missouri, plus canopy of trees can stop signature sometimes. Still would think high end equip would detect them. Authorities are making things up on this, wonder why, putting surveillance on them as they roam free to catch bigger fish?
