The Senate on Monday night unanimously passed a resolution condemning white nationalists, white supremacists, the Ku Klux Klan, and neo-Nazis, calling on the Trump administrationnamely Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Department of Homeland Securityto investigate all acts of violence, intimidation, and domestic terrorism by White supremacists, White nationalists, neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, and associated groups.
The resolution is seen as backlash from President Trumps ambiguous response to the violence in Charlottesville last August, in which a 32-year-old woman who was killed by a neo-Nazi who drove into a crowd of demonstrators. Trump blamed both sides for the violence, and later suggested there were many nice people on both sides, including white supremacists and neo-Nazis.
In response, the resolution urges the President and his administration to speak out against hate groups that espouse racism, extremism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, and White supremacy; and use all resources available to the President and the Presidents Cabinet to address the growing prevalence of those hate groups in the United States.
The resolution was introduced by Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-VA, Sen. Tim Kaine, D-VA, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-CT, Sen. Cory Gardner, R-CO, Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-GA, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-AK.
Don’t forget LaRaza. That makes a pretty good list.
It characterizes them as villains by default who can be attacked with impunity.
Oh yeah!!
He’s the one who made that tasteful statement “There are n##### and there are black people”
I’m sure Trump wouldn’t get any blowback if he said that :)
White supremacists/KKK = democrats.
Ain’t Skeerd!
What we really should be concerned about is ‘black supremacists’.
Trump can solve the problem with one MOAB, maybe something a little smaller.
They renamed a post office too. That took them all of 5 minutes. The sorry pos can suck mu n_ts. I
am sure this white boy has made the list in the past and this is one way to keep my name on it because I have wore a baseball cap with the bill facing forward most of my life.
Meanwhile, back at the hood, BLM still is killing police officers and getting away with it. Of course, they have a pocket full of race cards that scare the crap out of the spineless gutless republicans in the Senate. I have already called both of my senators and told them how spineless they are and why have they not introduced a BLM or ANTIFA bill. Dead effin silence.
In McConnell's comment about how much "work" this Congress has done, I believe he included "resolutions" as well in the number of "bills they had passed." I could be wrong. But it is the only way he can account for 180+. Maybe he did not actually use the term "bill".
I think my point was pretty clear though. Thank you for reviewing, critiquing and detailing the semantics for me. It has been educational toward my endeavors for perfection when posting. ;o)
