“It is a socialist power grab that needs to be rooted out entirely, whether all at once or bit bit.

It is dangerous to freedom”

“Trump will get credit for pulling off one of the greatest political maneuvers ever.”.

Actually, he has already done that by beating Hitlary out of the presidency, one has to give him GREAT CREDIT for that maneuver. I anticipate there will be more to come when odumbocare has been completely replaced.

“Several million Americans are now covered, who were not before.”

You confuse Health Insurance with Health Care. Everyone in the U.K. has Health Insurance, too. Go look under the hood of that system and tell me if it equals Health Care.

If the repeal vote takes place, and the Republicans can pull off a win, President Donald J. Trump will get credit for pulling off one of the greatest political maneuvers ever.

And if he can't?

They are some of the most, vulnerable out there. If they cannot get insurance, they will be bankrupted. Huge numbers of them.

And if Trumpcare passes this will solve that problem how?

Obamacate is a redistribution of wealth & has zip to do with healthcare.

There is nothing conservative about Obamacare. It’s a cancer. You don’t fix cancer. You eliminate it.

A lot of us were saying exactly that when he kicked that particular can a few months down the road. It got it off the table, leaving room for new stuff - like the ACA replacement.

I didn’t think about that. I have a feeling a few guys are projecting his challenges to their own seat in 2018.

It is unsustainable, the Obamacare marketplace has crumbled and will only continue to crumble. The truth is no one can give a credible accounting of how successful or unsuccessful the ACA has been. How many who lived without insurance, as I and many of us did when we were younger and had a far lees need for healthcare. How many used the exchanges to replace healthcare their employers provided but either made the majority of their employees part-time employees to avoid offering healthcare anymore, primarily because the premiums increased. Even you rely on a generic several million, is that 3 or 33 million? Among those who were uninsured were illegal aliens that are now being covered, most on our dime, only it is a lot more than a dime.

Oh, and if you want my opinion, climate change being caused by mankind holds more credibility than the claim that millions are now receiving healthcare that were the vulnerable ones. Climate change being caused by mankind is bull dung.

The Senate Parliamentarian Deals Trumpcare the Final Death Blow

The chances of Obamacare repeal passing by September’s end are essentially nil. There are only 12 legislative days this month — and in that time, Congress needs to pass a spending bill to keep the government open, raise the debt ceiling, appropriate funds for Harvey relief, and reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program. If congressional Republicans couldn’t find common cause on health care over the past eight months, there’s no way they’re going to find it in those 12, jam-packed days.

I think politically our Congress has talked themselves into a corner.

They should be running on change, not reverse. There ARE some good things in Obamacare. There ARE a ton of bad things. We need a leader in Congress that works to FIX and Improve.

Once you draw a line in the sand, you are screwed.

They talk about all of the changes they want. Someone needs to sit down withe the American people and tell them some hard truths.

I guess we are going to wait until we have another war or crash or debt crisis. Then the US will be willing to listen. Just like they did to Hoover.

All of the "we can't go back" commentaries hinge on ONE element and that is we would return to an exact equivalence of insurance in America before obozo and the other Fabians screwed it up.

I entered the adult work force around 1967'68 and even at a low paying job (factory/production - Boston area) I got health care as part of the package.
It was just always an accepted thing (to my young thinking)

I don't know when it changed because I took Tim Leary's advice and dropped out for about 15 years and woke up to a whole new world .... too much for me to catch up on ... I just jumped INto "working class hero"

Our employment numbers are up.

I talked with a guy yesterday who works for a conveyor belt company that services coal mines here in the tri-state area (Pa,Oh,WV) and he said Trump exploded the mining jobs through the roof.

With jobs coming back, profit comes back and with profit and reasonably intelliget honcho's at the helm, it is not far fetched to foresee perhaps employer provided healthcare AGAIN.

Which would scuttle about 80% of all talk show and print/electronic media content !

“Several million Americans are now covered”

As you know, obamacare is a govt.. ponzi scheme and has nothing to do with actual health care.

But just in case you believe it does..then what about the several million Americans who lost their health insurance because they either:

A) Had their hours cut back (my son - at same job for 17 years - went from 40 plus hours to 36 hours per week)

B) Can no longer afford their own long-term insurance because of zerocare (again, my son - who cancelled his wife’s coverage because it went from $300/month to almost $750/month)

As you said.... These are Americans who vote — and very recently voted for Donald Trump and others on the promise of repeal of this boondoggle.

Several million Americans are now covered, who were not before.

Are you talking about Obamacare...the insurance pools etc....or are you talking about Expanded Medicaid?
