Was President Trump's Debt Delay Compromise a Feint to buy time to Kill Obamacare?
Greatest Political Fake Ever? | Sept 22, 2017 | 11th_VA

Posted on 09/21/2017 3:49:42 AM PDT by 11th_VA

We would never even be talking about another vote to kill Obamacare, if President Trump had not "accepted" the Schuler-Pelosi proposal to delay the debt ceiling vote. The clock would have simply ran out while congress spend September debating the budget and debt-ceiling.

With that vote delayed, President Trump bought time for the Senate to revisit Obamacare. If the repeal vote takes place, and the Republicans can pull off a win, President Donald J. Trump will get credit for pulling off one of the greatest political maneuvers ever.

Just Saying !!!

I do not believe the GOP should attempt to “kill Obamacare”.

I believe they could improve it. Perhaps they could improve it quite a bit.

But not kill it. That would throw us back to what we have before, which was even worse.

In my opinion.

OK, well this is an ‘improvement’ to Obamacare. The states will each get to decide how to shape their healthcare. If California wants to keep Obamacare, they can - this bill preserves their right to do so.

We would never even be talking about another vote to kill Obamacare, if Luther Strange were ahead in Alabama.

Yes it is your opinion, however, I soundly reject it. Premiums and deductibles both went up significantly. Many lost insurance & some got insurance that everyone else is paying for. So I am not sure how you can justify your opinion.

Several million Americans are now covered, who were not before.

They are some of the most, vulnerable out there. If they cannot get insurance, they will be bankrupted. Huge numbers of them.

We cannot just go back. That would be a catastrophe for quite a huge amount of Americans. Americans who vote.

Someone should tell Republicans let's kill Obamacare & make it better but when we win more seats in the Senate in 2018, we'll make the Bill even more Conservative!

Try to improve it as much as possible with these RINO Senate Republicans & once we get like 10 more Senators we'll make it as Conservative as we want it!!

This isn’t going back. All those states that refused to expand Medicaid, because of the onerous Obamacare regulations, will be able to provide insurance to millions more people who currently don’t have it.

No.. the deadline is still the 30th for reconciliation. Drivel post.
It was a six month blank check to prop up every dem entitlement program. Those who think a deal with Pelosi n shumer would be good for America and be about limited government step up and say so.
The insurance company bailout they are working on is spenderiffic,
Does it really say for every one dollar Mississippi gets, California will get one also?
The left and right coasts will go single payer (yay people can go back!).. what happens when they need a bailout? They are already running a type of block grant with Medicaid funding and they can’t do that.

He wanted to ensure the Repubs have no choice but to look at some issue during the mid term campaign year.....they wanted an 18 month decision so they could go about their nonsense with impunity.

There are states under Obamacare that were abandoned by Insurance companies, so NO COVERAGE.... geez!
Under this repeal and replace will be coverage for those with pre conditions per Trump. And it returns the money to States....I like that, it is NOT Federal Government responsibility to provide Healthcare, and Single Payer will only cause more deaths. Single Payer keeps people seriously ill from getting care, that is why UK, Canada, and other nations w SP had people coming to USA to pay for surgery or other treatments their country had them on list to die before ever getting treatment. Single Payer is a lie!

OBAMACARE WAS CREATED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT WORK, AND BRING SINGLE PAYER TO USA BY AN OUTCRY OF PEOPLE! WAKE UP!

The statistics do not support you. The only segment that increased was the Medicaid segment. Increasing Medicaid eligibility did not require Obamacare. Before people who were young and healthy made choices to be without HI for a time now many more people can’t afford insurance and those that can find it no use because the Obamacare deductibles are too high.

Well I understand I am very much outnumbered on FR. However I just wanted to express my opinion, since it seems possible there will be a vote on this next week.

Jim Thompson said he is not for Obamacare. Strongly.

With that in mind, I will be quiet now. Having stated my mind.

Peace everyone. :D

“Several million Americans are now covered, who were not before”

And many Doctors don’t accept that coverage. And yet millions are still not covered and I imagine many of which had ins. prior to Obamacare. They simply can’t afford the premium and deduction increases which subsidizes those that can’t (unfortunate) or won’t do what is necessary to take care of themselves on their own dime.

There are something like 2000 pages of legislation that we call obamacare. It includes abortions, death panels, doctor reorting requirements, and a huge bureaucracy. There are taxes, fees, charges, and assessments. There are kickbacks and carefully crafted alignments between business and government. And that’s just the surface. When lawyers really start pushing this or that small sentence or clause, it will be more a big brother intrusion than we realize.

It is a socialist power grab that needs to be rooted out entirely, whether all at once or bit bit.

It is dangerous to freedom.
