UK climate change masterplan – the grownups have finally won
The Guardian ^ | October 12, 2017 | by Damian Carrington, Environment editor

The grownups have finally won and everyone in the UK, from those in cold homes to those on polluted streets and in flooded towns, will benefit. The most important aspect of the UK government’s new clean growth strategy is its unequivocal statement that tackling climate change and a prosperous economy are one and the same thing.

There is no long-term, high-carbon economic strategy because the impacts of unchecked climate change destroy economies, as Lord Nicholas Stern puts it.

But the Conservative party has long been swinging between the green dream and fossil-fuelled fantasies. Recent years have seen one green policy shredded after another, destroying confidence among the businesses we need to deliver a low-carbon economy.

The new strategy published on Thursday signals a new, if belated, beginning. It is the beginning of the end of the fossil fuel age: it is highly notable that the government plan omits any mention of fracking, having previously been its cheerleader.

However, while many of the details are missing, the clean growth strategy marks an important and vital step forward for the UK. As the prime minister Theresa May says in the plan’s foreword: “Clean growth is not an option, but a duty we owe to the next generation. Success in this mission will improve our quality of life and increase our economic prosperity.” The strategy is now crystal clear – it is time to deliver.

It doesn't make any difference where the mill is, all steel, even if it comes from Korea, will have mill oil.

It will go to a fabricator who adds more oil such as cutting, forming, drawing oils etc and it all has to be cleaned before it can be painted.

The clean water act made the rules for cleaning and treating the metal and clean air act made the rules for painting the metal.

“Dimwits keep using the term “fossil fuel...”

Oh yeah? Then explain how I found this in my fuel tank.”

The U.S. probably has the cleanest air and water of all the industrialized nations.

With just a few clicks you too could be on that Open Secrets web page that shows donations from 15 coal companies, or which coal companies spend the most on lobbying.

GB and the EU are all gone/done at this point. Only the old soviet satellites who are rejecting the mass infection will survive and thrive in the future.

The article does not mention the East Anglia University emails. I wonder why.

Ridiculous. Burning fuel has never polluted. Keeping unburnt oil sleeks around and rotting forests does. CO2 is vital for healthy crop growth.

Indeed, leaving it to China to produce this crap is a sure recipe for ecological disasters. Bottom line is that a sea of many small fishes is not the bigger pollution foot print but a Soviet style Leviathan state in the sea without limits will always be corrupt, poaching and polluting with its huge footprint.

Coal companies lobby? As opposed to the incestuous relationship of ecological non profits taxing people’s speech so that they become tax subsidized cult opinion makers? Ha! England is indeed a theocracy and has morphed into a green-red-black seeds watermelon fascist state.

There are numerous articles on this but apparently they have a Climate Change Act to deal with and have published a lengthy Clean Growth Strategy.

I certain that the Prime Minister would welcome being straightened out by someone with your vast experience and knowledge.

I suppose I do not have a vast knowledge in scam imagination and creative bull sht pseudo-scientific terms like Clean Growth Strategy.

We already went over this in 1777, later on with Hilter vs Chamberlain in 1933 or so. But the almighty British theocracy still thinks it can use an old Soviet scam to reassert a subsidized religion when it has no control over it.

If Hitler had sent his Nazis to be part of the Synod, the destruction of the pesky Jew might have been fulfilled. That was his mistake indeed.

The coal industries involvement in lobbying has nothing to do with your inflammatory statement. Man made global warming is far from proven and even the accusation as they are do not warrant crippling mankind.

Just more of the European suicide compulsion.

P.M. May is childless, like so many other European leaders (Merkel, Macron etc.).

All of this environmentalism and cult-of-deathism is tied to atheism and socialism—the attempt to substitute human government for God.

Those are simply the facts about campaign donations and lobbying and if you think those facts are inflammatory that's your problem.

As for your opinion about global warming, I suggest you take it up with Prime Minister May and the others there in the UK where they are conforming their Climate Change Act with the Clean Growth Strategy. I'm sure they are anxious to hear from an expert like you.

If the British PM wants to destroy her economy while the Chinese laugh and cheat their way to domination, it’s no skin off my butt! She is welcome to destroy their country.

I suggest she get serious about it and declare England will be pollution-free by 2020. By 2025, Jolly Ole England will be part of the Caliphate anyways. They can behead themselves by moonlight then.

Coal only DREAMS of having the lobbying power of the greens.

If by grownups they mean delusional children afraid of supposed ecological monsters under the bed, Yes they did win.
I suppose it helps when you control all the instruments of propaganda, and are unaccountable to things like you know results...

You tell generations of ignorant children lies offend enough and rob them of their ability to think for themselfs they will believe and crusade like fascist for any cause until they destroy themselves and you along with them.

Who would have guessed we would end up with groups like antifa running around as anti-free speech thugs and cultural terrorist. Our tax payer funded schools trained them to do that instead of learning to read, write, and think for themselves.
