The Kennedys as a clan HATED LBJ, they really truly hated him.
********************************************
Very true! ...JFK only picked LBJ as running mate to pull in votes from Texas and some other Southern States, because JFK was not liked in those States.

That letter has been around. I saw the article someone posted from Conservative Treehouse I believe but I’m not sure if that has been released with the recent documents release. I’ve heard it’s a forgery ... BUT I may be wrong so I am not trying to be argumentative.

The CIA knew him, the FBI knew him, the KGB knew him, of course. Oswald was a kid in his young 20’s who had some delusions of grandeur and was a communist who had gone to Moscow and apparently denounced his country. Of course he drew attention. He was also nuts.

I am willing to listen if there is a traceable story that the CIA put him up to this and that there is anybody else tied to the CIA involved. We haven’t seen that part of the story yet.

The JFK assassination happened for reasons similar to the sinking of the Titanic: it was a perfect storm of individuals and organizations on their own making independent and often bad decisions. All of these bad decisions and bad communications culminated in a horrific tragedy. It’s not any more complicated than that.

John Hinckley almost killed Reagan, that was not a conspiracy.

Squeaky Fromm came close to killing Gerald Ford, that was not a conspiracy.

Just because a nut job attempts/succeeds at assassinating a president doesn’t mean there is a large over arching conspiracy involved.

I really want to understand how the biggest assassination in American history came off and if the CIA put Oswald up to it, who else was involved? Something of this magnitude takes more than training and putting up a 24 year-old crazy kid who clearly was a communist and hated his own country.

If you are Dulles or a high-up in the CIA and you are planning to kill the president, that is an enormous undertaking. So far the only thing we know for sure is that the crazy 24 year old did it and if there are other pieces to the puzzle nobody has clearly put them together in over a half-century.

There were absolutely cover ups by the FBI, CIA, DPD and SS—all of them screwed up in their areas of responsibility, they had a lot to be embarassed about. They all knew in retrospect that they had not been vigilant enough, and it cost JFK his life.

That’s not BS. Read the CIA memos. IIRC it was done using Navy Intelligence as a cover.

Yours is a plausible explanation. They all had a file on Oswald and didn’t act on them. At the time, the American people were out for blood over the assassination, which was a main reason for the Warren Commission. They had to give a straight, credible answer to the American people and maintain credibility of our government institutions.

The commission no doubt had all this information and chose which to reveal and conceal in what they perceived to be the country’s best interest.

Direct from file site is a raw Intel report about oswald being turned by kgb but not instructed to kill jfk

Debriefer notes not sure if true or just talk. From 1990.

Talks about how he fell for girl.

Might have been honey trap

I have to see directly from file sight now that I know some forgeries may be reported

“are you sayng that publishing the route was part of the conspiracy? That whoever punlished the route was part of the conspiracy?”

LOL. Of course not. 50+ years after seeing Ruby get blown away on live TV I am still amazed at the stuff people come up with when it comes to the JFK assassination.

Additionally, if we are to buy into the idea of a large menacing conspiracy, it would have had to involve hundreds if not thousands of conspirators.

What is the likelihood of that many conspirators pulling off essentially a high profile public perfect murder and coverup—and the hundreds/thousands of conspirators get away with their crime for the last 54 years?

The likelihood is ZERO.

The Texas highway speed limit in 1963 was 70 - not that anyone drove that slow.

The KGB knew that Oswald was former military and they knew he would be tailed once he returned to the US. It is clear that Oswald offered himself up to the Soviets and yes he fell in love with a young Russian girl. The big problem Oswald appeared to have is that his nuttiness was very transparent and the KGB and the Russians probably found him useless or too dangerous to use. He didn’t last very long in Moscow.
