We know Obama didn't care. Hillary even attacks him over it. But her own DNC operation, which she controlled, didn't care either. The hacks only became significant retroactively when
A. Some actual damage was inflicted on the DNC by the release of emails. ...and more importantly...
B. Hillary lost. And that led to a frantic search for someone other than Hillary and her people to blame. Had Hillary won, this would mostly be a non-issue.
Donna Brazile, the former DNC head, who is a casualty of both A and B, and is pushing back against Hillary and the Dems who dumped her with her new book, confirms that the DNC did not care.

It is only later that they made up the phony story about Russian hacks and the phony story about Trump colluding with the Russians. The media dutifully repeated the lies from the Democrats. Then Mueller was appointed Special Prosecutor and empowered to pursue anything he wants for as long as he wants with no oversight and no control.
There was no hack and they knew they had plugged the leak.

I don’t recall a top level Democrat going against the Clintons. I will say that scandal material has never hurt them legally. I’m not sure how bad it hurt Hillary last year.
It would seem negative reports would hurt her, but even Obama wasn’t hurt by the negative things he was doing as president. He was re-elected despite them.
What I can’t shake, is the feeling this is all a manipulation. “Oh this has been aired in public, and there was nothing there.”
Hillary may ultimately be behind this.
Even the Seth Rich stuff is something that was already out there.

Let me add/remind us of the time factor in the data transfer, which indicated that the data had been downloaded locally rather than internationally, likely to a USB memory stick.
The wife tuned through CNN to peek at the alternate universe. They were discussing Trump's urging Pompeo and the intelligence agencies to meet with a non-governmental type who was espousing the local leak, not the Russians theory. What was interesting was how biased (no surprise) the CNN talking head were. The basic position was "How dare the President pressure these agencies, when there was unanimous agreement among these highly capable intelligence professionals that the leak was a Russian hack."
In other words, CNN's default position was to defend anything done under the prior administration that could be used to defame Trump. Any attempt he might make to offer an exculpatory analysis was therefore manipulation, obstruction, and further proof of his guilt.
The DC swamp is deep and fetid, and filled with nasty creatures.
It's very plausible. I say that much has been orchestrated against the Trump administration from Day 1, solely for the purpose of discrediting them. Think about the "protests" against his first immigration "ban," the pussy-hatted marchers, and all of the other "resistors."
This has been done to obfuscate any matter that might stem from any type of legal charges that might be brought against them at some point. This may have had an effect of painting Jeff Sessions in a corner--not so much because he couldn't press legal charges, but because he was afraid of the political fallout.
Secondarily, it also takes the political wind from Trump's sails...he had no "honeymoon period" with the American people, because he is the antithesis of everything the Left stands for, and the Left wanted to restrict the damage he might've done to their "legacy."

The only time the perverts known as Democrats use a “radio active” response is when it became clear they were Trumped. Then his impeachment was the only way to go. That’s when they started mining cash from Putin’s uranium holdings . Cause if Hillary goes down and to the slammer Putin’s mining stock $$$$$$$$ goes goodbye..
All Federal ‘employees’ are swamp dwellers.
Any of them voting for klinton (all of them) should be FIRED...
Put Federal agencies in small towns in the U.S.
Put the IRS in Alaska somewhere.
Put the EPA in Death Valley.
Put the FBI in Enid, Oklahoma.
