Last week, Mediaites Larry OConnor, who also used to write for our sister site Hot Air, and Fox News contributor Richard Fowler discussed the so-called Weinstein Effect with host Shannon Bream. Weve heard the numerous and rather stomach churning stories of sexual abuse and harassment ever since women started to come forward about fallen Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. Now, its spreading to other industries in the country. Weve had liberal media figures, other Hollywood producers, and even a Pixar executive either losing their jobs or facing such a possibility for their bad behavior. Of course, no one is for sexual harassment; creeps have to go. Period.
Yet, there is a gross hypocrisy here, which OConnor aptly noted. He did agree with Fowlers points about teaching boys from a young age on how to treat and respect women, but added that its a bit interesting to see Democrats reaction to this, given that they tolerated Bill Clintons past sexual abuse allegations. So, if we really want to talk about fighting the kind of culture that allowed these horrible people to operate for so long, the Left might want to come to terms with how they behaved during the Clinton presidency. He added that Democrats had a powerful influence on our society by giving Bill a pass on his rape allegations (via Mediaite):
You worry about a rape culture in America, OConnor elaborated. Juanita Broaddrick was ignored, ridiculed, demeaned and absolutely trashed by the party elites, by [Hillary] Clinton, by the way, for the last 20 years. And just now suddenly Democrats are seeing religion on this.[ ]
But before Shannon Bream closed the segment, OConnor reiterated the impact that was made when Clinton got a pass for his sexual assault allegations. Fowler pushed back, pointing to Clintons impeachment.
He didnt get impeached over the Juanita Broaddrick case and that was a sexual assault, OConnor rebuffed. And I think that had a powerful influence on our culture.
Larry OConnor: Bill Clinton Getting a Pass For Assault Had a Powerful Influence on Our Culture
Granted, some on the Left have done thatalbeit more than two decades after the allegations were bright forward against the former president. Even now, we have people downplaying Frankens accusations, saying hes a comedian etc., with others saying Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), another Democrat accused of sexual misconduct, and his allegations could be made up. Theres a circling of the wagons, maybe not as fast at assembling as Clinton, but theres vestiges nonetheless.
OConnor also said that this sexual misconduct reckoning that is sweeping the world is tempered by the fact that its mostly Western, predominately Judeo-Christian, nations being swept up in it; the Muslim world, which has an appalling record on womens rights, is (obviously) nowhere on this.
Fowler said that Bill was held to account since articles of impeachment were brought before him, while OConnor noted that he wasnt impeached for the Juanita Broaddrick allegation.
I told someone today someone needs to say, “Hey libs, you spent 50 years building the society you wanted and thought we needed, why are you surprised?? And yes, it was encouraged by letting good ole Bill slide. I remember the comparison to Watergate and supposedly Republicans walking in and telling Nixon it was over. No such thing for good ole Bill. He was not going to resign and they were not Dems were not going to say it was over. This only 3 or 4 years after they went ballistic on Clarence Thomas. It was ho hum, it was personal, leave him alone, all the while his own wife was trying to destroy the women who were abused. What kind of message do you think that society was going to take from this. The fact is people do look up to our leaders and follow the lead. This and the absolute mockery of marriage, commitment and the like. Libs and immoral man built the society we now have. Mike Pence was treated like an alien for honoring his wife and marriage with his stance with dining and drinking with females present. Maybe finally, Bill’s legacy will be sealed. He was the red line the Dems and media would not cross because of their hatred for everything moral, decent and right.
The rant is over.
Of course, no one is for sexual harassment;
Consider whiskey ...
If when you say whiskey you mean the devil’s brew, the poison scourge, the bloody monster, that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the home, creates misery and poverty, yea, literally takes the bread from the mouths of little children; if you mean the evil drink that topples the Christian man and woman from the pinnacle of righteous, gracious living into the bottomless pit of degradation, and despair, and shame and helplessness, and hopelessness, then certainly I am against it.
But, if when you say whiskey you mean the oil of conversation, the philosophic wine, the ale that is consumed when good fellows get together, that puts a song in their hearts and laughter on their lips, and the warm glow of contentment in their eyes; if you mean Christmas cheer; if you mean the stimulating drink that puts the spring in the old gentleman’s step on a frosty, crispy morning; if you mean the drink which enables a man to magnify his joy, and his happiness, and to forget, if only for a little while, life’s great tragedies, and heartaches, and sorrows; if you mean that drink, the sale of which pours into our treasuries untold millions of dollars, which are used to provide tender care for our little crippled children, our blind, our deaf, our dumb, our pitiful aged and infirm; to build highways and hospitals and schools, then certainly I am for it.
This is my stand. I will not retreat from it. I will not compromise.

The Democrats have reached an impasse in fundraising capability—no come to Jesus moment.
Allow everyone to look at all that raw evidence stored in the Ford Administration.
Publish the content of the MLK tapes.
Open everything up to scrutiny, including Congress.
No singularity for Bill, everyone revealed.
Great rant. The Greatest Crime Couple in the history of this fabulous republic and the SCUM that protect them.
Thanks Kaslin.
