This November 2 is the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, sent from Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community:
"Dear Lord Rothschild, I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country. I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation. Yours, Arthur James Balfour"

That’s because only after the bones, flesh, and skin develop does God breathe life into them. Ezek 37 This is occurring and will ultimately be confirmed per Jer. 33 and Matt 24 and many more passages. To call God’s plan’s and promises for Israel as a people and a nation a disaster is more like faithlessness. Plenty of people have believed these promises found in both the Old and New Covenant before Scofield and without picking up a Scofield Bible. One could make the argument that all forms of replacement theology have influenced Church tradition and thought since the early church fathers erroneous interpretations and hermeneutics.
Daniel's list is a whole lot longer that that. Only his understanding is altogether different:

The answer to your question is, no, they require almost no training in Bible, Bible study, etc.

Sadly, they also neglect the Greek and the Hebrew.
The lack of exegetical training among Roman Catholics is glaring. Some have it but most do not.
