Reading Bloom’s book, “The Closing of the American Mind” was my eye-opening moment. The 60 minute interview in 92 of Bill Clinton and Hillary ended my voting Democrat for life, because of exceptional gut instincts (and I even lived in California), but this book gave me the ability “to know” “why?”. I had to reread it and study philosophy to fully understand the brilliant book, and I never, ever regret the time and energy it took.

Shirer’s work covers the nuts an bolts of the Nazi rise, but not the why - for that read “The Psychology of Mass Fascism” by Wilhelm Reich. This work seem a particularly apt read given today’s youth highly favoring socialism and seemingly, in particular, a form of Nazism.
Yesterday’s Communists and Nazi Socialists are today’s Socialist Left in more ways than one. For instance, common denominators of all three movements are in Genesis 3:5, Matthew 4:9, John 8:44, Romans 1:30, and Romans 1:25 and by extension Dan. 11:38 because they ‘worship’ the creative energy (evolution) that is their ‘father.’
My view is much simpler:

There is not point in trying to debate the left as to definition of each form of Totalitarianism. They are all the same ultimately. Repression, Misery, Theft, Destruction.
This is a very interesting article but there is one main difference between the nazis and the current crop of leftists. Nazis were fiercely nationalistic, today’s left is fiercely anti-nationalistic. The nazis loved the fatherland, the American left HATES America.
You have to hand it to Hitler- he's the only person in history to give Communists the moral high ground.

Having lived in Germany for a long time now, I believe I have come to realize how/why the German people followed Hitler and the National Socialists into “the madness”.
I also have an “arms-length” perch to watch “the madness” in the US. Watching the 60’s generation grasp the levers of power in the media and university and public school has truly been a disaster for our republic,
I have also watched the rise of the “moral majority” and TEA Party and finally the election of DJT. His “in you face” response to the liberals and, especially the PC crowd is a breath of fresh air.
Now I am watching the USSC to see if we have some reversals of the unconstitutional ruling (no basis in the constitution nor common law) that will reverse the damage and, best of all, drive the loons on the left up a tree.

The Left always tells us that the Nazis weren’t real socialists, which is exactly the point. Socialism is unsustainable. It’s just a shiny thing they use to recruit the useful idiots. They never intend to actually do it.
