Truth is Washington Post slugs saw the "D" by Bill Clinton's name and gave him a pass. Post reporters only concern was the investigation was costing '40 million dollars...

Hubert Humphrey gave Mondale his start in politics. Mondale was appointed state AG when the incumbent became a judge. Then he was appointed US Senator when Humphrey became VP. Mondale wouldn’t have gotten as far as he did if he’d had to get there on his own. Minnesotans may not have picked him if he hadn’t already been chosen for them by the party bosses.
