Congress could take the court completely out of the game by simply changing the la to enable states to require drug tests. No other “Constitutional” issue would be involved.

Go back to food stamps only for rice, beans, powdered milk and eggs, and 5# blocks of sharp cheddar cheese.

Isn't that a little harsh? Shouldn't they be able to buy cabbage and potatoes, too?

”… a move that has been blocked by the federal government or found unconstitutional when other states have tried."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Politically correct interpretations of the Constitution’s General Welfare Clause (1.8.1) by FDR’s state sovereignty-ignoring activist Supreme Court justices aside, the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the corrupt feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for vote-winning food stamp purposes.

So the feds are unconstitutionally distributing food stamps imo, the stamps paid for by unconstitutional federal taxes.

In other words, if the states would wise up and support Pres. Trump in working with the states to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that are arguably stolen state revenues, then the states would find the revenues to distribute their own food stamps.

Also, patriots are reminded that they now need to be making sure that there are plenty of state sovereignty-respecting, Trump-supporting candidates on the 2018 primary ballots, and pink-slip career lawmakers by sending patriot candidate lawmakers to D.C. on election day.

Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!

This is so overdue!
And it should apply to all states using Federal dollars.

Fewer Escalades, drug purchases and big screen TVs...

Empower the mothers who care for their children (unless they themselves are addicts.)

Two arms, two legs, breathing.....that pretty much says “able-bodied” to me.

Not addicted to drugs, not in jail and literate, or capable of becoming literate.

Why would able bodied people need food stamps at all?

Congrats, Gov. Walker! Great move. Sensible. Multi-functional.

I was disappointed with him in the primaries after his showing such courage in facing down distractors in Wisconsin. This elevates him in my eyes.

I'm still not exactly sure where Congress has the power to do this in the first place...?

You have to spend a significant of your time on the job as a government tax slave.

Scott Walker was my original first choice in the 2016 GOP primaries, based on his performance as governor when he led the movement to gut the power of Wisconsin’s unions. Alas, he was not a good television personality. Fortunately, we had Trump.

If Walker succeeds in this, he will result in a whole bunch of drugged out welfare recipients moving out of Wisconsin to Illinois, leaving Wisconsin with a more Republican voter base.

He’s the worst. The worst, I tells ya! ;)

Aside from our bad roads (previous Governor Doyle, D stole our transportation fund cash!) and some outstanding debt, Governor Walker has really gotten our state back on track.

This is a long-wished-for dream of Wisconsin Conservatives.

You don’t wanna work? Well, you’re not gonna eat then, Losers!

...but it languished because it conflicted with federal rules prohibiting states from imposing additional eligibility criteria on food stamp recipients.

Don't the States have to pony up some of their own money for food stamp programs? If so, they should be able to come up with requirements and if the Feds don't like it, they can either foot the whole bill (same taxpayers paying for it anyway) or just don't fund for those who fail the State requirements so the nannies in the Fed can nurture the low-lifes that scam and abuse the system...welfare should be at such a low subsistence rate it encourages the able-bodied ones to work.

The Walker administration estimated that a small fraction of the program’s applicants — 220, or 0.3 percent, of the 67,400 applicants a year — actually would test positive for drugs.

If that's the administration estimate then the actual figures could be even lower. Were is the need for this?
