Its a new year and medical marijuana is finding its way into the Keystone State. Thats not particularly remarkable since its a trend which has taken root in plenty of states around the nation. But Pennsylvania gun owners are now facing the same conundrum threatening to plague their fellow Second Amendment enthusiasts in other states where either medical or recreational pot has been legalized. The Pennsylvania State Police are telling everyone with both a firearm and a medical marijuana card to prepare to find a way to dispose of their guns. (CBS Pittsburgh)

The Pennsylvania constitution declares the right to bear arms with no qualifications or restrictions.
Shame and scorn go a long way. Those who claim to support the Second Amendment but side with the gun-grabbers deserve the full measure of both.
Siding with the gun-grabbers, I see.
If thats the case users should also be banned from voting.
Nope. Merely stating the law. Fed supersedes state, or so I was taught. The states legalizing marijuana put their citizens at risk of federal law enforcement.
Which is another reason why most marijuana sales will continue to be underground.
Uh oh, PA wants to follow federal law.
That premise is REALLY working with California!
You need to read the Supremacy Clause more carefully.
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof;[ ]shall be the supreme Law of the Land;
I don’t dispute your definition but DE AUTHORITEEZ might.
I find it interesting (read: appalling) that the nanny state will tsk-tsk-tsk about smoking (tobacco or marijuana), alcohol and gambling but these are three of its primary earners. Their efficiency in stomping out competition would make the Mafia weep with envy.
So many questions... for example, does getting a legal prescription of a pain killer/muscle relaxer/et al... also prevent you from owning guns? Or, if husband gets a legal pot script, does the entire family lose the guns? Does his wife maintain ownership? Even if you are anti-medical pot... one can certainly see the reach of the government to snatch weapons. This is just about gun grabbing to me and if allowed/supported, the next ones will be the Tylenol #3 users. IMHO.
Pennsylvania’s major problem is a Governor who is to the left of Che Guevara.
And legions of do-nothing Republicans who sit around Harrisburg with their thumbs up their arses.
Attorney General Sessions to end Obama-era policy that let legal pot flourish
Thus sayeth mewzilla “Pennsy has the same problem NYS does. Its major metro areas. Wed already scratched PA from our list of states wed relocate to.”
Relocate to the place of your dreams. But allow me to say that as an individual who was born and raised in NJ, who’s father ran a jr. rifle club for 20 years and as someone who has been around firearms and firearm competitions for 50 years, Pennsylvania is a very gun friendly state. Trust me on this. Not perfect but I’m reminded of just how good we have it in PA 5 days a week when I make the trek into NJ, just over the border, for work.
As far as the medical MJ issues are concerned it is very obvious that the powers to be are using this as a means of back door gun control nation wide. Bottom line, citizens have a choice to make: enjoy your 2nd amendment rights or enjoy pot. You are not getting both, it’s just that simple.
Instead of bread and circuses, it’s now bread, circuses, and weed.
I have family in Pennsy. We’re in PA a few times a year. Over the years have been in, to, thru most of PA. Lovely state, lots of nice folks. But thanks to what goes on in Harrisburg, we will NEVER live there.
Not so much.
You get the government involved and everything is going to get complicated.
Most of the cops i know smoke pot.
Looks like Sessions woke up just long enough to take a leak on the Tenth Amendment. What a Swamp whore.
Clear violations of the 2nd and 5th amendments.
Confiscation of of personal property without due process of law.
