Dear Battle,
I do not understand why, if you live in Indiana, Hurricane Sandy, which struck the New England coast scared you into taking down your maple trees. I live in the Washington DC are and my mother lives 750 miles away in Indiana. Hurricane Sandy was no where near her or anyone else in the state.
Thanks,
G-F

The solution is to plant the sugar maples further north.
