US media also tends to black out the plight of Middle East Christians, and how our support for jihadis in Syria and elsewhere amounts to a death sentence for their Christian victims. When Assad and Russia kicked the jihadis out of Aleppo, there were massive outdoor Christmas celebrations - after years of Christians living in fear. Israel has launched sorties in Syria, correct? A sovereign country? And so have we. So have the Russians, but they were (and are) invited by the Syrian government.
I would like to know the facts of the case, but I do know that if any other country launched (uninvited) sorties over our airspace, we would be justified in defending ourselves. If the Israeli plane went into Syria, got targeted by AD, hit, then limped back to Israel before crashing, it isn’t at all unexpected.
We, or allies we fund, recently shot down a Russian jet. It is good that Russia has not yet retaliated. Why are we funding opposition in Syria while crying about alleged Russian interference in our elections? Oh yeah, I forgot, our neoconservative foreign policy is “exceptional” /s.
