I’m surprised Michelle Obama didin’t think this one up.

Households receiving $90 per month or more would get a portion in shelf-stable milk, ready to eat cereals, pasta, peanut butter, beans and canned fruit, vegetables, and meat, poultry or fish.

That'll put a crimp in food stamp fraud - http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/02/11/minimart-owner-convicted-189000-food-stamp-fraud-sentenced-prison/

Well perhaps you have a database where they can select preferences and dislikes. They just can’t select the ribeyes and lobster. But you could deselect pork and lima beans, and indicate a preference for shrimp and brussel sprouts. Computer does the rest.

And they have to have a balanced nutrition. And if you select something more expensive you get less of something else.

Shouldn’t be that hard to put together.

It’s not quite the same as the school lunch scenario, because the kids can go home and get something better.
But if it’s all you got, you eat it.

Now how are they going to exchange that to the Spanish store keeper for booze and cigarettes?

Keeps them from buying junk food and other non-essential stuff. Like the idea of MRE’s.

Fresh produce in season grown by local farmers. Volunteers or paid volunteers (Medicaid recipients) deliver. Off season, use a competitor of Amazon to deliver.

Welfare peanut butter was the best! The cheese sucked.

We would get them donated for our boy scout trips.

I can’t believe those levels are so low. Nobody makes 12,000 as a single person or 16,000 as a married couple today. I think they fudged those numbers. I believe it is more 30,000 for single and 60,000 for married with children. I see people at the store all the time using SNAP or whatever it’s called. I wish they were honest with the story. Although that would be against their agenda.

I don’t know if the price of anything will go down. Look at the WIC program. Why should the price of baby formula, cereal or orange juice be so high? Because they can get whatever they ask for from the government. Look for any item that will be delivered to go up in price at the grocery store.

This is how system used to work in the late 60's,

Recipients would receive commodities like milk bread and cheese. They weren't able to spend our bucks on cheetos, jerky and kool aid.

Of course many black marketed the healthy stuff for cheetos, jerky and kool aid.

I guess I don’t believe most EBT recipients actually need the food. There is certainly a group that does and the plan might work for them. In rural areas better than in the inner cities where package delivery is dangerous & does not get to the addressee.

I can’t imagine having to go into Cabrini Green or some other war zone to drop this stuff off. I think they need to think that one thru. Maybe have the stuff dropped off at the entrance of street and say come and get it with a cow bell. No way are people are going to want to go house to house delivering that stuff.

Better pack some exlax in those MREs if you are going to rely on them as your sole source of nutrition.
