The incompetency of law enforcement is just another reason to trust the protection of family and friends to yourself. I sometimes have had friends make jokes about my protection trained dogs and numerous guns and quantities of ammo, but if anything ever happened they would be looking to me to take care of them. I always remember when me and a cousin were living together, a coworker who happened to be a black guy, was eating Sunday dinner with us commented about the dog in the yard and guns in every corner. “If anything bad ever happens, I’m moving in with you MF’ers” This was when I was about 27 or 28 years old, my dogs are better trained, and I have lots more ammo now!

Sept 2017 Youtuber notified FBI of “professional school shooter” comment by someone who calls himself Nikolas Cruz. FBI complains they don’t know or can’t figure out who left the comment; does not pursue.

The local LEOs, school & country health were well aware of growing a potential problem - what 39 incidents? After 10 (and that’s too many!) you would think they would have put their foot down on the family and Cruz. Florida has the “Baker Act” yet in this case chose not to use it.
Relying on far away DC & Federal LEOs was a huge mistake.
IMO its silly to blame them now! If anything you’re transferring the blame to the least effective potential deterrent.
No. I’m not transferring blame. I simply listed yet another point at which the perp could have been called on his behavior and short circuited the “inevitable”. As Laz said above, there are so many points at EVERY level - I imagine many of which we do not yet know.
