This teacher is exposing the 900-pound gorilla that is in the center of all this controversy.
It’s not the schools, it’s not the teachers or students; it’s not movies, drugs, or guns.
The common denominator to all these things, is the parents. We have too many feral teens running around in society. Without parental rules they might as well be growing up in a cave full of wolves. They survive by being predators.
The authorities should be hauling in the parents and find out why they can’t control their kids. Lock up old absentee dad a couple of times for what his kid did...dad will make it his business to teach the kid a lesson or two.
Nobody in society has more impact on kids, than parent...but you have to start very early, be consistent, strict, and fair.
Let’s stop the whirlwind finger pointing and put the basic blame on the basic problem...feral parenting. If the parents are causing it, the parents should bear the weight of the law.
The rest of us don’t have children that behave this way, and they’re living happy and prosperous lives. It doesn’t hurt children to correct them and enforce the rules, it builds character and structure.
When I was a lad, children were seen and not heard. Privacy meant closing the bathroom door when going #2. Anything else was chancy. Even the Playboy magazine under the floor boards disappeared after a sweep of the house.
Today, kids have more secrets in their cell phone than our whole middle school class.
Sue Broward County School Board...
I said this on day 1 .
High power legal firm and massive blanket Class Action
Brwd Sch Bd owns this.
They knew about this kid and allowed this to happen.
There was so much they knew and never informed the parents about it pathetic.
I am not a big sue person but this demands it to only bring out the facts
...Arm teachers...
FL Senator Bill Nelson (D) says we can’t do that.
He said,”We can’t turn our schools into armed camps. That would be contrary to our Open Society.”
This “Senator” lives in a liberal Fantasyland.
They already are armed camps, but for the wrong people.
It’s impossible to disarm criminals.
Create security.
Protect schools as if lives depend on it.
“Florida Teacher of the Year on Gun Violence: Parents Need to Step Up and Control Their Kids..”
The schools took our kids from us and this is what they produced.
Spare the Rod and Spoil the Kid.
I have a very liberal relative who is a teacher and she echoes the sentiments about wanting/needing more parental involvement.
Oddly enough, the other day I browsed through an antique store nearby and came across a collection of old LIFE magazines. One from about November 1954 had a little feature on the very busy hunting season that took place in northern Michigan that autumn. There were photos and comments on how numerous boys from the local high schools participated and one can imagine that no eyebrows were raised whatsoever concerning something like that. Really takes your breath away to read a story about the type of trouble your son earned for such a non thing and compare it with that LIFE magazine story from all of those years ago.
It’s true that parents need to teach their children right from wrong and there should be no difference in the morals and values that teachers teach in school to children from what parents teach at home...but there is. Schools are amoral. In many cases they are outright immoral.
This killer was not a normal kid and our society does not know what to do with young people like this. His brother was committed to a mental institution. Why was this young man left to his own evil devises? Was he drugged?
This should be the number one talking point on all talk radio today, tomorrow and the foreseeable future.
She’s right as rain.......
Reminds me of the New England teenager who killed two people.
He was found to be making a bomb in his room and his parents never even noticed.
I will start a thread today with the right title and hopefully it will get noticed and someones will forward to the media, blogs, etc.
Seen & not heard. Speak when spoken to. Those days are long gone.
Thanks.
Too many mothers can’t say NO to their kids. I see it all the time in supermarkets. The brats develop into selfish, uncaring adults.
Plus the schools deliberately replace parental control with control by the schools, and that control seeks to destroy any value system the parents might have given to their children.
A public school teacher who stands up and speaks the truth.
...
She does speak the truth, but I’m not sure it would have made a difference in the Cruz case. I’ve read some stories about her giving discipline. She adopted a couple of bad seeds and then her husband died.
Ghetto ganster lifestyle and values permeate the popular youth culture while rap music glorify and promotes a criminal and dysfunctional lifestyle and values
Realistically violent video games nurture and glorify anti social behavior
Add in powerful prescription psychotropic behavioral drugs combined with recreational street drugs to amplify typical teenage angst and alienation and you have a recipe for disaster that makes it surprising that there are so few of these types of events
Shell be fired by week’s end. /sarc
As far as property taxes, part of that goes towards fire protection.
I would reduce the taxes by whatever % goes towards schools.
