Jeff Sessions needs to quit. There does not seem to any action on his part and I cannot remember a time in my life where we’ve had a less active or involved AG. That he doesn’t have Trump’s confidence, he should leave. I don’t know if this is a game between them, with Trump’s public nudges or criticism, if it is I am sorry, I don’t see the humor in it. Very poor management style, one Trump is far better than. Trump’s biggest problem right now is a rudderless, mutinied DOJ/FBI. Until there is new leadership and several independent counsel to investigate politically-charged problems, we’re going to be stuck with the current distracting daily drama. He needs a new AG, one that will immediately say enough with the politics and appoint several special counsel to investigate the DOJ/FBI corruption, use of text for personal affairs, revisit Clinton et al email, unmasking, spying on Americans, IRS targeting conservatives, Uranium One, Russians and Dems, DNC murders, and so many more that it is hard to keep track of them all. Turn the special counsel loose on the Dems and get back to work!
I think (and hope) that the proper military analogy is the fighting in the Bocage after D-Day. In that fight, the quality of the generals didn’t matter because the troops were hemmed in. It was when the finally broke out that the generals finally got into the game. The current warfare between the Democrat/Media Complex and this administration is that kind of toothpick campaign where ‘progress’ is measured in yards. At some point you would think that Mueller has to throw in his hand.
Trump needs like-minded people to take over DOJ/FBI and others. People that believe these are good departments led astray and don't minding breaking a few things to fix them. Someone that will be respected by all parties, not overtly political. Who?
A reading of 5 U.S.C. §§ 3345-3349 supports the interpretation I posted above. I don’t see how your view is supported.
I still see that Trump is stuck with Rosenstein if Sessions resigns unless he gets a recess appointment and McConnell is not going nuclear on administrative appointees nor allowing recess appointments.
Can’t rely on McConnell as he is a coward.
Rosenstein is one of the three to sign off on the bogus FISA warrant to spy on Trump and the Trump campaign, and to attempt a removal of the President in a soft coup.
If Nunes can get contempt on Rosenstein, then maybe Rosenstein can be forced out. But then a new person would have to fill Rosenstein’s slot for at least 90 days before Trump could appoint him as acting AG.
Trump appears to have his hands tied on this matter. Maybe Nunes can bust up the cabal logjam.
There’s also Cruz in the Senate but he’s up for reelection. Still, he might be able to turn up the heat on McConnell.
It’s official. Sessions has no shame whatsoever. Anyone who had any would have taken the hint and resigned within an hour of the tweet.
That’s the second public swipe Trump took at Sessions - time to bear down or get off the pot.....
Hell....ask Rosenstien. Hes the one running the show.
They both need to go.
Trump could fire Sessions, but do you really think Congress is going to approve a bulldog AG that could potentially come after them for their involvement in crimes? Not bloody likely.
Agree, and that's why the upcoming midterms are vital for us. I plan to get 10 of my closest friends and family to vote for the Rs this November. Many Rs aren't my cup of tea but when compared to the Ds, there is no other viable option.
“Probably my last remark to you ever, you simpleton who cares not about proseuctorial conflict.”
No, I care not one whit about prosecutorial (but I know how to correctly spell it) conflict that is stacked to inhibit justice, which is what this one did.
And the fact that this is your last remark to me — I care even less.
“Time for Trump to get out the brass balls and fire Sessions and Rosenstien!”
Precisely! And when Trump’s new A.G.appointee meets with confirmation resistance, make a recess appointment. It is long past time to take off the gloves. Sessions must go!
I didn’t need a Trump tweet. I have been calling for Sessions to resign for over a year. He is MIA and can’t fulfill his job description. If I told my employer I would only do half my job, I would be fired.
No offense to too nice of a guy, but Sessions can’t perform his job and must go. I don’t care how many pot smokers he wants to convict. He is completely MIA vs. Hilary and the Deep State.
Sessions has to go. I want to hear Trump say, “You’re Fired!”.
He is a squeaky clean boy scout. Sessions is a purist. I admire his integrity, but we need a street fighter, not a gentleman fighter. Right now he is fighting an MMA fight with one hand literally tied behind his back and is getting his clock cleaned.
We need to remove boy scout Jeff and get a street fighter in there who will WIN.
Well said. Exactly right and true. Hammer, meet nail.
Rosenstein is running the show now with respect to all Russia/campaign/collusion investigation decisions. What would Trump have to lose in getting rid of Sessions. It is not as if Sessions is running the show on campaign matters now.
I blame Ted Cruz for Jeff Sessions. Cruz talked so much about Sessions that Trump grabbed onto him early in his campaign to secure the vote in the South. Political campaigns and alliances are amazing things.
Sessions has reopened up the Hillary email controversy and a slew of others that Rosenstein could slow walk or bury if put in charge.
There’s no way of getting around that as of NOW, it’s a total suck situation.
> “... do you really think Congress is going to approve a bulldog AG that could potentially come after them for their involvement in crimes? Not bloody likely.”
Reread my posts, that was exactly my point.
Is it possible that this tweet is just a set up for the coming indictments? Trump is distancing himself from Sessions. Sessions recused himself. They won’t be able to accuse him of collusion with such separation. Maybe it’s all rope a dope strategy.
Although they often appear to be, I don't think that Trump's Tweets are always the first thing that pops into his head in the morning.
(I don't know what Trump's objective is. I'm jus' sayin' he's neither dumb nor crazy.)
