At this point what is the difference between Scott as a Senator and the incumbent, Bill Nelson? Both like gun control, apparently.

Fairly reasonable for law enforcement to seize firearms/ammo based on a claim of a threat? Then the accused has to go before a judge to prove they’re not a threat? Fairly reasonable to prohibit an adult to purchase a firearm? Ever hear of the Constitution? I’d hate to hear your definition of draconian.

Ok, so you can speak freely all you want in your home at 18. But you can’t do so outside your home until you’re 21. Feel better?

I’m from N Fla. Its total gun territory and very conservative. People there are not going to be happy about this.

Don’t forget the teacher’s union. Scott’s been ever eager to raise taxes to throw more $$$ to ‘education’.

Not not need to do so if he actually ENFORCED the Law vs. illegals though (he’s given them a pass on in-state tuition, over immigrants and Citizens from other States).

Evil, unconstitutional infringements of the right to keep and bear arms, which PRE-EXISTS this nation, and will continue to exist long after this nation is in the dust bin of history. Which it is accelerating toward with hateful collective punishments like this.

WE LAWFUL GUN OWNERS DIDN'T DO IT. WE SHOULDN'T BE PUNISHED.

I knew Scott was a limp-&#$@ vacillating politician when he flipped and flopped and equivocated and reversed himself TWICE over bills that would have abolished alimony in divorce cases.

Not that I have a dog in that fight, but it proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he’s completely driven by polls.

States are sovereign outside expressed U.S. Constitutional limits (the 2nd amendment is pointed directly at the feds).

Florida is not constitutionally prohibited from passing this law, but I’m willing to bet the virtual tyrannical discretion given to the police violates the Florida State Constitution.

...except the article doesn't tell us what's in it, and not in it!

"Imposes a three-day waiting period for all gun purchases". Doesn't the law exclude CCW holders, military and LEOs? Seems an important omission. (And I'm not even in Florida, like the reporter.)

Another example of a “feel-good” knee jerk reaction to an issue that needs to be discussed rationally and honestly if we hope to substantively address the problem.

I don’t like the age requirement in the bill. But I will vote for Rick Scott over Bill Nelson. And I bet the NRA endorses Scott.

As a Life member of the NRA I'll tell you this: If they endorse Scott after this fiasco I'll be sending all future donations to the Gun Owners of America and a copy of the receipts to the NRA.

I hate Nelson and will never vote for that walking corpse but I now hate Scott even more because he's a two faced, lying, POS, scumbag, traitor. If nothing else Nelson doesn't hide the fact of what he is. I survived 8 years of Obama and I can survive another Nelson term.

I just hope someone runs against Scott in the primary because he'll never get my vote again. Same goes for my State Rep Thomas J. "Tom" Leek (RINO) who voted FOR this fiasco. At least my state Senator voted against it.

What’s the legal age for a child to start hunting on his own, and also with an adult accompanying him, with both carrying?

I wish DeSantis would rethink running for gov. He’s great all by himself, but the contrast to Scott would further burnish his image.

DeSantis has been pretty good so far. He would have been in the Senate by now if little Marco hadn't changed his mind and decided to run for reelection. Unless I missed something I thought he was still on tap the for Florida Governor's race.

Agreed.

I’m not going to let this one mistake overshadow the fact that Scott has been a competent governor. He would be a vast improvement in the Senate over Nelson.

He’s doing it because of the polling. America is freaked out over another school shooting and a large majority wants gun control. But once this all passes, America will realize it wasnt the answer and they made a huge mistake.

Scott will not be able to overcome the lost votes for signing this POS bill. He gets no democrat votes for caving, the independents won’t move enough one way or another to make a difference, but gun owners with long memories will not vote for him after this betrayal. This is a GHWBush back stab and we all know how that turned out for going mushy on your base.

I’m a Florida gunowner with a CWFL.

Against Nelson, I’ll vote for Scott just like against Obama I voted for both McCain and Romney.

If Scott loses, will radical and rabid gun nuts get the credit/blame?

Nothing in this bad bill directly impacts me, other than generally empowering moderates when we should be ending GFZ’s instead.
