Called his line and left a message as well as leaving an email. I strongly object to the manner in which this bill was conceived; i.e., based on emotion, not reason or facts, the use of 16 year olds as political pawns by the liberal media, blaming the NRA, a large conservative organization, instead of looking at system failures and addressing them, etc. Even worse, I am concerned that this was a test by liberals to see if a right and conservatism could be overcome by emotion, acting, media pressure and outside money which funded same. Sadly I fear both Governor Scott and the Florida legislature have failed. Does the fact that he intends to announce his decision after meeting with Parkland victims give any doubt as to which way he will decide?

Please clarify what’s reasonable in it.
Nelson will vote to take ALL OUR GUNS.
Charlie Crist is back.
Gun grabbing and another big government bureaucracy in Florida.
How is restricting a person who can carry full auto in the military from purcasing semi- auto in civilian life reasonable ? All but one if the mass shooting preps were over 21.
Thank God I’m in Florida and will vote for Scott because of judges. I hope you are not in Florida!!!!!
Nelson will vote to take ALL OUR GUNS.
Correct. And Nelson voters know that. They will GOTV for him.
OTOH, we have Scott tip toeing through the tulips with his consultant driven garbage gun bill. We will never know what we will get from him as a Senator and that is why Scott will lose.
Sorry, Floridians, but the snowbird takeover of your state is now complete.
I’m glad that Dave Barry somehow finds the courage to go on living there & chronicling the madness, which he usually acknowledges with the footnote,
“Your Florida state driver’s license is in the mail!”
I go back further than that with a bumper sticker from 1986 which reads, “Will the last American out of Miami please bring the flag?”
So under this Bill, law enforcement can deem who should own firearms and who shouldnt? WHAT COULD GO WRONG!!!
They’ve been wanting this one for a long time.
The law only raises the firearm purchase age to 21. You can still possess and use guns when you are 18.
Not a damn thing. But removing rights in the middle of a hysteria feels so right.
The event that triggered this would have EASILY been avoided if the school and law enforcement agencies had even REASONABLY done their jobs. To deny that, is just insanity.
So instead, they pass more laws that only infringe upon law abiding citizens...
At least they’ve done SOMETHING, even if that something is stupid and worthless.
The problem is Scott is being so weak here who knows what he would do as a Senator. Maybe he joins the Dems on gun control in the Senate. Who knows. He’s a typical finger in the wind politician and “he’s not a Democrat” is not good enough to GOTV.
I just got a live operator at the gov phone line. 10 minutes
Got her to register my and the wife’s discontent.
I tried to pry any info our of the gov office regarding the cause side of the Parkland murders. I asked if the gov has researched that the good students are exposed to the criminal juvenile element and that it came from Obama 3 years ago. I wanted to know what the gov is doing about that — silence.
Told her Scott lost our votes if he signs the current bill.
It does nothing to keep this from happening in the future and violate the 2nd amendment rights of thos under 21. If 18 year olds are considered adults, then they should not have their rights restricted.
Furthermore, who determines if someone is a threat to society. This opens the door to go after the militias.
Its suicide to sign it .
The gun grabber is a clueless Dallas lawyer .
N FL is very pro hunting and very Gop .
He will lose big here .
By signng this betrayal he can kiss his FL career.
Good bye
