Back in Florida, Rubio issues warnings -- for Trump on Korea and the NRA on the Second Amendment

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio was in full-alarm mode Tuesday on the second day of a two-week swing around the state during the spring recess.

He warned that President Donald Trump‘s scheduled meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jung-un is potentially “dangerous and counter-productive.” He warned of China’s “unprecedented” and steady attempt at displacing the U.S. as the world economic power. And he warned the National Rifle Association that if it doesn’t focus its energy on reducing mass shootings, the Second Amendment could be at stake.

“I would argue today that perhaps the single, biggest threats to the Second Amendment are these mass shootings because if it weren’t for mass shootings and gun crime you wouldn’t see this outcry,″ Rubio said at a meeting with reporters at his Tallahassee office in the Florida state Capitol. “It’s awakening the conscience of the country.”

He called Trump’s visit with Jung-un “counter-productive because it will be used just to give him a platform to look important,″ adding that he doesn’t know “if the meeting is ever going to take place or not.

Rubio said he was “doubtful” that Jung-un was interested in denuclearization.

“I am very doubtful that he will ever surrender his nuclear weapons because, for him, that is his life insurance,″ Rubio said. “That is what keeps him in power. Because he is fearful of becoming [deposed Libyan leader Muammar] Gaddafi and fearful of becoming [executed Iraqi president] Saddam Hussein and he’s a young man. He’s got to figure out how to hold onto power for 50-60 years.”

He said Jung-un benefits from the meeting more than Trump because the dictator “lured an American president’ into a meeting and it helps him in his quest “to be accepted as a global power.

Hey Marco!

How many times does Trump have to prove you wrong before you are sufficiently shamed into silence, if not support?

Maybe he meant to say that little Marco ‘fully throated a conservative”?

If Marco doesn’t work on fixing the bad use of grammar in this country, his first amendment rights could be at stake

“This little twit and Bill Nelson are my US Senators.

Am I frustrated?

Damn right!”

Well think of how we feel about our two her in CA? Fineswine and Harris! If a plane crashed into the Capitol, it would immediately create a massive improvement in our Federal Government. Particularly if the “hit” was centered on the Senate side.

He’s just reminding everyone to be thankful he’s not sitting in that really big chair in the white house.

LOL! That’s exactly what I was thinking.

The only time little Marco has been full throated was when he hooked up with a guy at a foam party.

Rubio, Lindsey, and McCain were repeatedly voted in by Republicans. Seriously, we got to do better or demand term limits.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have term limits, all we have to do is stop voting for backstabbing weasels.
God, that is a scary thought.
I prefer a Democrat who is at least honest about being a socialist to a “republican” who would back stab us. It’s not that he as bad principles, it’s that he has NONE; he’s only a ‘Republican’ because that was how to get elected.
Not sure what Rubio’s throat is full of, but it isn’t conservatism.
You would have enjoyed (as I did) episode one, season one, of “Designated Survivor.”
A dem president was giving his State of the Union speech, yammering away about the 1%, when the Capitol building was engulfed by a massive fireball, which wiped out the government.
Keiffer Sutherland was the HUD Secretary and was the “designated survivor” at a location away from the Capitol, and he became president as a result.
The series went downhill from there with PC crap and I stopped watching at that point.
“Little Marco.” What a disappointment! To think that he actually had the nerve to run for President is troubling.
He should be “primaried” and then sent back to Cuba.
The re-election line that RINOs will NOT use: “Don’t want mass shootings, vote conservative. The cities with the highest gun violence in the U.S. are all run by liberal democrats, and have been for decades. Look it up, it’s true.”
I think all of the schools should adopt the “bucket of rocks” procedure for self-defense. That’s what some schools in California have done.
Rush and Hannity being two of the biggest cheerleaders for Ricky Ricardo’s pool boy.
