RUSH: By the way, the Rasmussen presidential tracking poll for today: Trump at 51% approval. The rest of the Drive-Bys discount Rasmussen. They call it a Republican-slanted poll unit. They discount it. They prefer to use CNNs where Trump is at 43 or 44. Hes climbing, even, in the CNN poll, but hes not at 50%. You have Trump, and you wonder: In any poll, how could Trump be at 51%? Hes fighting an unaccountable special counsel. Hes fighting current and former deep staters, a dominant radical left-wing media.
Hes fighting the ChiComs illegal trade practices, dealing with an insane regime from North Korea, fighting to undo a deranged Iran deal. Hes fighting organized invaders coming through Mexico to corrupt the American culture. Hes fighting wannabe gun confiscators and hes fighting Democrat obstructionists in Congress who will not move forward on confirming many of his nominees, including judges at a rate that is slower than anybody can ever remember. Its an active shutdown of confirming Trump appointees.
Now, what are Republicans famous for? Among this many things, what are Republicans famous for? (interruption) No, not besides caving. Republicans are famous for not fighting, right? And, I mean, I may be overdoing the term here. Republicans are famous for what a lot of people consider to be surrender. You know, on these ongoing continuing resolution budget deals. Well, they cave and they say, Well get em next time! Well kick this can down the road. Well do this three months from now and were not doing this again. Were gonna take it to em.
And yet the procedure repeats. How do Republican voters respond? They respond with apathy and anger. If you want to know why Trump is at 51% approval, its because Trump is Trump. It is because Trump is taking on every enemy hes got. In many ways, in many cases, hes doing it single-handedly. Hes doing that which Republican voters have not only longed for, but believed is required in the midst of these political battles. Scott Walker has issued a warning.
There was an election in Wisconsin where a radical leftist won a judgeship. And Scott Walker says he believes that a Democrat blue wave is coming, governor of Wisconsin. He thinks theres no question a blue wave is coming unless the Republicans get in gear and take this seriously. He said all the Democrats have is anger and rage, and the Republicans better come up with something to counter that or theyre gonna get swept. Now, he says this because hes seeing it in his state and its a state Trump did well in. So something to pay attention to.
Indeed...it’s complacency on our side of the isle that has to be overcome. Remember back when - we were all, no matter state we were in and no matter how far away from Wisconsin we were, sitting here weeks leading up to it and the night of paying very close attention to a Supreme Court race in Wisconsin between Prosser and Kloppenburg. I even remember their names (and remember Kloppenburg declaring victory even though she hadn’t won anything - she was very narrowly leading with considerable votes outstanding and may have even fallen behind in the vote count as she was giving her ‘victory’ speech). This time around...didn’t even know about the race until after it was over. We weren’t paying attention to a lowly Supreme Court race in Wisconsin this time around...and if people had posted about it, we wouldn’t have responded to the articles probably...so this complacency is even right here on this forum where we are all political junkies, let alone among conservatives in general across the nation. The other side meanwhile is out of power and wants their power back, even taking little pieces like this will have an impact - and they are taking them. How do we overcome this?
If there is a blue wave this Fall, this will be the reason: Trump can do all the right things and achieve great miracles, but if every available patriot does not vote, the enemy will win anyway, and undo all the good of the last year.
Yes, and the other problem is insistence on unobtainable perfection.
Trump won, in part, because many fine GOPers who OPPOSED Trump in the primaries (correctly) worried more about the Hillary alternative, voted for Trump, and convinced unsure and unmotivated friends, relatives, and workmates to do the same.
Perot gave us what should have been an object lesson: do not take grievances into the general election. General elections is where we must set aside differences (which will always, always be there, and many of which are totally justified) and UNIFY into the election.
Primaries? Argue, debate, show us key differences. We we expect some fireworks.
Generals? Unify (that is the secret that the Dems somehow know better than do we.)
If only those beasties actually existed - closest we ever had was the "Dixiecrat" Blue Dog Democrats and they are an extinct breed...Gene Taylor of Mississippi was one of the last few and he's been out of things for a while now.
“How do we overcome this?”
I’m not convinced that we can. :(
It usually takes losing power and the ‘Rats effing things up over the course of a DECADE or two, to get us motivated again. And having GOOD, SOLID, Conservative Candidates would certainly help!
Frankly, we don’t have the time to spare anymore.
I’m not trying to sound defeatist, and of COURSE I’ll do what I can where I can, but it is a frustrating cycle that GOP LEADERSHIP puts us in, no matter which state we’re in, and of course, Nationally.
One step, ‘FORWARD’ (Wisconsin’s State Motto) and two steps BACK. :(
No matter how many times you call MAGA the "GOP's battle", it's still not true.
The GOP is a globalist force for evil.
