If we were to legalize drugs we would save trillions of dollars and see crime drop by 50% or more — both inside of a month.

Exactly like China did in the 1840s. Oh, wait...

I pointed out then that sort of marriage was not very indicative of a conservative family for a white girl to marry a black Jamaican doper

I was shouted down as a racist and bigot

Usual free republic race scolding

I stand by that

This tells me marijuana will soon be legal and probably widely used in all 50 states before this decade is out. America, we hardly knew ye...

At the Grotto
In the greasy chair
Sits the Charlie with the lotion and the kinky hair
When she smiled, she said it all
The band was hot so
They danced the famous Merengue
Now we dolly back
Now we fade to black

Tearful reunion in the USA
Day by day those memories fade away
Some babies grow in a peculiar way
It changed, it grew, and everybody knew
Semi-mojo
Who’s this kinky so-and-so?

Papa go
Oh - no hesitation
No tears and no hearts breakin’
No remorse
Oh - congratulations
This is your Haitian Divorce

...Boehner came out against marijuana legalization...

Well didn't we all say he was two-faced when he was Speaker?

Regarding gout, self-medicating with unsweetened cherry juice, cranberry juice or even blueberry actually is effective combined with a diet cutting out the really rich fatty foods as well as any agonists as far as production of the uric acid crystals that accumulate in extremities and joints causing the swelling and pain. That includes alcohol, beer in particular, and even green leafy vegetables. I have a genetic predisposition, my maternal grandmother had it pretty bad. The side effects of colchicine really put me off, so I went looking around. Took about eight weeks but I got rid of my first major bout of gout, lost about thirty pounds over the course of the six months I stayed on it, haven’t had a recurrence either. I know what it feels like coming on now, that tingling, so it’s time to rein in the fatty foods, etc. and that wards off another bout of it.

I only really have three issues with marijuana:

1. There should be harsh penalties for anyone who smokes it somewhere that someone else could be affected by it

2. Anyone DUI marijuana should not be allowed to drive again

3. It shouldn’t be permitted in public places, schools, or workplaces

If it is used exclusively in private residences by people who won’t be operating a vehicle, I don’t have a problem with it.

I do have a problem with Big Pharma stepping on natural remedies because they don’t want competition for the toxic garbage they sell.

Same here. I have a bout every year or two now. I just cut out the red meat and scotch, down the cherry juice and presto. All gone. :)

“Many things are legal which are highly immoral.”

Sometimes. Thankfully, God gave me the ability to determine what those are & whether I should use, patronize or participate in such things.

“So, you have no problem with a self-professed conservative operating a t*ttie bar?”

It’s not a place I would patronize but if it’s done in accordance with the law it’s none of my business.

Legal grass? Doesn't he know that the possession or distribution of even minute quantities of grass is a Federal offense?

Gout was more responsible than anything for my quitting drinking. It was over a yer before I had the nerve to even try one drink and even then I looked for the cleanest, least likely to provoke another bout. Very painful, no desire for a repeat. I chose a good filtered vodka with tonic and lime. That’s been my go-to ever since although I’ve never come anywhere close to the consumption that I had before. Brown liquor is more of a potential irritant than clear, so my beloved scotch is a very rare treat. I just don’t drink beer anymore at all, which is a shame with all the cool microbreweries that have opened locally and regionally over the past decade. But, I’m free of it or at least have been. Worth it.

Yes. I don’t know if that same dredlocked, squinty eyed Somalian is still Boehner’s son-in-law, but he did marry Boehner’s daughter a few years back. Maybe daughter was concerned with becoming what used to be called ‘an Old Maid’.

>>Oh, yeah - that’s all we need is millions of more Americans walking around stoned. That should definitely have a happy ending. /s<<

What makes you think there is a single thing in the WOD that stops anyone who wants to be stoned on drugs from doing so?

Whether there are laws on the books people who desire to do so will access and use drugs. People who do not desire to do so will not.

If the drug laws were dropped tomorrow who do you think would say “Oh good, I will now start using Heroin?”

And you assert MILLIONS will make this decision?
