I predict that the newly opened Dicks/Field and Stream in Cedar Park, TX will not last the year. The Cedar Park Convention Center is less than a mile up the road and they have a huge gun show once a month. Academy Sports is just around the corner.

Gander Mountain has returned under the name “Gander Outdoors”, resurrected by Markus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World and star of the CNBC reality show “The Profit”. The website is up and running and many former store locations are being reopened. Conservatives should note that after the Charlottesville incident, Markus Lemonis stated publicly, “If you are OK with what Trump said, don’t shop at my businesses.” I have not visited the reopened Gander store near my home so I can’t comment on it. I’m sure there is nothing it sells I can’t buy elsewhere.
I have observed in recent years the left has become very adept at using economic extortion to force funding of the Democrat party and progressive causes. Democrat politicians, social justice warriors, and the media have perfected tactics of using the court system and unfavorable publicity to “persuade” CEO’s to tow their line or suffer the consequences. Republican politicians, as usual, are sitting by quietly while the left uses these tactics to take their donor base away. Hollywood, media companies, and Wall Street are now solidly in the progressive camp. The push is on to force multinational corporations and retailers over to the progressive side. If this trend continues it is inevitable conservative GOP politicians will soon be unable to raise the money necessary to compete with Democrat candidates in political campaigns.
